I buy mine from makro - box of  101, the boys P. behind the chair so I need them, I cut them half, so get 202 out of a box.

Well after reading around on the internet, I have found a few comments from cat owners saying that they bought them for a puppy and the cat started peeing on them!  So I guess the attractant works for cats too.  Not a problem when using them under the litter tray but I don't think I'll use them to deal with Jaffa's spraying (until I needed them for under the tray, I had a couple positioned permanently at the bottom of the wardrobe in case Jaffa decided to spray there).  I have noticed Mosi sniffing the one under the tray a lot.  I have bought the Simple Solution adult dog floor protectors.  Should be very absorbent if they're designed for adult dogs (though personally I think if you have to leave an adult dog alone indoors for long enough to need one, you're doing something wrong).  We will see.  Hopefully it won't be for long as I've seen a storage tray that I think I may well buy to use as a litter tray and someone at work has a stanley knife she said she can lend to me so I may get something sorted out soon and not need the puppy pads.

It's some kind of pheromone. Probably the same, or similar to what they use on Pee posts - which is a post you stick in the garden and it encourages them (especially the boys) to go in that particular spot. Dogs are big on the whole marking thing and they want to go where other dogs have been or where they've been before, which is why they work. It's why I don't use or see the point in puppy pads for puppies. Too confusing, since the last thing you want to do when toilet training them is encourage them to go indoors.

I have noooooooooo idea what affect it would have on cats though. The pheromone thingy would be specific to dogs. I would assume cats could smell it, but I don't know if it would mean anything to them.

I had a look in PAH when I was in but didn't buy anything.  I'm a bit concerned about this "puppy attract" or whatever they call it.  Supposed to attract them to use the pads.  That's ok for under the litter tray, but I don't want to encourage him to use the ones down by the wardrobe in case he sprays!  It won't have that effect on him will it?  what do they put in them to encourage use?   I noticed the the simple solution ones did one for adult dogs so that would probably have the best absorbancy for under the litter tray.

Thanks - I will try Simple brand from PAH.  I plan to go there today as Mosi has ran out of furball treats     Hopefully I won't need them for long as I'm searching for storage boxes suitable for litter tray usage today and I'm hoping I won't need them for Jaffa's spraying for long.

She gets them from Batleys, a wholesaler so you need a card. They are by Simple Solution  and the economy pack of 100 and can be bought elsewhere, just be more expensive! -she thinks they're really good! Hope that helps!

Mine are probably the simple brand as they are from PAH, but Netto did an offer on some a while back, and they were much better, I forget the make though, and have never seen them do it since.

Awwww  You aren't useless.

Unfortunately I can't help  I've never used puppy pads before as they are actually the one thing I say you don't need with a puppy - too confusing for them. Sorry

I haven't bought them for years but I used to buy them in bulk from ebay, I never once had a problem with moisture leaking through so think the ones you are using at the mo must be a duff brand.

We used the PAH ones and found that with the plastic floor runner underneath worked just fine - in fact I use them in the bottom of kitten pens when the ferals go on the beds and sleep in the litter tray

We also have Plastic up the walls in the study with a nice wood batton hiding the top for the standup crew who won't use the covered trays a quick wipe and all better - we also have it under all the trays as it helps with the sawdust scatter mine insisit on doing

We call them Minimopsical pads, the best ones we found were the" Simple" make available from Pets at Home, we also used to buy some direct from Batleys. Most are 23inch square if you are looking for something larger it may be worth buying human incontinence sheets, some vets will even sell this type of thing.

Anyone use puppy pads?  Either under a tray etc. or for a puppy!   I bought some bob martin ones in Asda but they are too small and it soaks through the plastic on the bottom.  are there better ones out there?  Do they come in different absorbancies?  I know they are designed for small puppies, but some breeds would surely need a bigger and more absorbent pad than the ones I'm using.  Even when Jaffa gets half his wee in the tray, the overspill soaks through the plastic which is not really the idea.
