How lovely so many people in the street care about this cat: not just the feeding but communicating about her too.  :)

Just caught the latest news on Sid, Gail. Good news that Cramar will take him :)

I was just so relieved that this little girl was being looked after and that her new carer was really grateful for all the advice I gave him :)

The vets said she was only about 3 and I'm pretty sure the previous carer was looking after her for over a year so even though she was technically a stray I think she still had a lot of human interaction.

I really love the fact that her new carer let's her in his home and he really likes having her around (he is on his own ya see)

I hadn't posted anything about this situation because I felt I had it all under control and I did...but now I want to share my happy little story with you all.

I live in a quite cul de sac and pretty much know all the cats in the neighbourhood LOL

For around two years I have seen this beautiful tortie but didn't have any concerns because she looked well and always used to follow this particular lady down the street.

I hadn't seen this cat for a while but didn't necessarily think anything of it...then two weeks ago I saw her, sitting outside someones house and she was meowing her little head off so I called her over and as she came closer I could she that she was really really skinny (her legs looked bowed and she was just so boney). First of all I felt guilty for not noticing before but quickly realised I needed to do something. So I spoke to a neighbour who was outside gardening and asked him what he knew about the cat.

It turned out that she was a stray and the lady I used to see her follow down the street used to feed her but she recently moved away. He thought that someone may have been feeding her but he wasn't sure.

So I went home and wrote a note to the person he thought may have been feeding her and also got some food and water for the poor little thing. When I posted the note through the door I noticed there was a food bowl and water bowl in the porch so I tought they must be feeding her and she possibly has thyroid problems or maybe that's their own cats bowls and this cat just hangs around for scraps???

I thought about the little cat all night and cos I hadn't had a reply by the next day I then decided to speak to the next door neighbour to the house I posted the note. She filled me in with all the info and that her neighbour is now looking after the once stray cat and because he was worried that the cat had got really skinny he took her to the vets. She had fleas and worms and it turns out he just hadn't been feeding her enough (only half a tin a day) because he didn't really know anything about cats. It also turned out he was away for a few days which is why he hadn't replied to my note but the cat was being fed by another neighbour. So I let the lady now that I had posted the note but if she could let the man know we had spoken and if he needed any help or advice to pop up and see me.

Well we caught up with each other a couple of days ago and he was really touched by my note and thought it was really nice that someone would care about the little cat. He explained to me about the vets and her being underweight etc. I gave him lots of advice and pop down again today with some cat info books that I got free from the vets when I got Soap which I didn't need (obviously), some biscuits, some cat milk and a safety release collar. I did tell him she may not like the collar initially and gave him a bit more advice.

Anyway she is called Purdie, the guy has got quite attached to her, let's her in his house and is quite happy to contiinue to care for her and pay vet bills etc.

I just wanted to share my little happy ending...hopefully I will be able to get a pic of Purdie soon to put up here :)

Sorry it was such a long story!!!
