Hee hee - Hi Esme, Hi KC - welcome to Purrs!  :welcome:  Glad to see you have the right idea KC (about the food I mean - your life will never be the same again)  ;D    Esme is truly beautiful and I reckon she'll lick you into shape very quickly.  :evillaugh:  Hope you can find eveerything you need to know on here - and if it's not on here, someone will know the right direction for answers.     Nothing like hard experience for education though (like extra anchovies!)

When I was a youngster, whilst we had and cared for many pets and animals, we never had a cat.  We used to gasp at a good friend of the family who used to feed her cat fresh salmon (a huge luxury back in the 60's  :evillaugh:) whereas now I wouldn't bat an eyelid.

Jeez, I'm overwhelmed!

Thanks for the fantastic welcome. Cat people are certainly a warm and lovely bunch. :)

Looking forward to getting to know you all better and to introducing Esme after she lands on May 8th. My kitchen cupboards are now bursting with cat food. Not sure where I'm going to put my own. I guess it's pizza (with extra anchovies...?) from here on in... ;)

Take care.

KC

OMG Esme is beyond beautiful .... it's obvious to see why you agreed to give her a home ... those eyes are amazing.

As you have noticed we are a friendly bunch and no question is ever considered "simple" or "silly" ... so don't worry about asking us anything.

Looking forward to hearing all about Esme and of course seeing lots more pics of the little stunner  :Luv2: :Luv2:

Hello all,

I'm picking up my "new" cat in a little over a week, so have been trawling your posts for hints and tips in advance of my world being turned on its head. What a helpful bunch, I thought, so I decided to join up (or in).

Esme is a BS chocolate tabby colourpoint. She was a successful breeder, but after 2 caesarians her lovely owner decided it was time to retire her at the age of 5. She couldn't put her back in with the other girls and their kittens, so asked me if I'd be interested in giving her a nice "retirement" home. I couldn't resist those big blue eyes, so my London flat is currently being Esmified. I'm anticipating a nervous first week, as she took a while to settle when she was moved initially, so I may be logging in frequently and begging for help as I'm fairly new to these gorgeous creatures.

Attached are a few pics of my girl.
