RIP Willem  :'(.  What a handsome boy.  So very sorry for Cookie, your daughter, her OH and you WB.  So very sad but how wonderful that he had so many much loved years after such a very bad start.

WC, what a beautiful picture. The bond is really obvious just by looking at it.

I'm so glad Willem and his sister got such a loving home after a terrible start and that he crossed over knowing he was loved so very much. :care:

  :'(   Hi Everyone and thanks so much for your thoughts and vibes

Sad news Im afraid - Willem had liver cancer and was put to sleep this evening.  :'( :'( :'(

 My daughter, Anne and her partner Neil were both with Willem.

Willem's sister Cookie was able to say goodbye as well; she was taken to the vets by Anne so she could see her brother after everything was over.  I know that sounds a bit grim, but how else can you "explain" to her ?

So Willem is now safe at Rainbow Bridge, with many many cats to welcome him and play with him. 

Willem and Cookie had originally been rescued, in Greece, from a plastic bin liner.  They were found along with their dead siblings   :'(  I like to think, as do Anne and Neil, that Willem is now playing with those brothers and sisters.

Willem was at least 15 and we will all miss him so much  :(

RIP Willem- Now in no more pain.

Agreed. Despite the age difference, Astryd was really close to Jack so when we lost him she showed very visible signs of missing him. She'd check his hutch outside repeatedly as if hoping to find him in there and when she didn't she took to sitting in there for ages, presumably to be close to his scent at it's strongest. Made me cry all the more because I could see how sad she was.

Hoping Willem crosses over peacefully and that Wibblechick and her daughter are coping. :care:

I have just had a call from Wibblechick who was too upset to post on Purrs as her Daughters cat Willem is heading for Rainbow Bridge,  he has been diagnosed with Liver Cancer and the outlook is not good.  So please can we send some good vibes for Willem and his furry sister Cookie who will be devastated without him and send loads of hugs to Wibblechick and her daughter  :hug: :hug: :hug: :hug:
