Jasmine stayed over night at the vet on Monday night so they could check her breathing cuz the vet said it didn't sound right. When they went to check her in the morning she got stressed and her breathing got worse so the vet put her back in the kennel then she colapsed and died  :'(  :'( The vet was clearly shocked and upset, she tried hard to save her but couldn't it was just so sudden and unexpected. R.I.P Jasmine x

I lost a 5 month old kitten to FIP, and he had shared everything with another kitten of the same age

the Bristol Veterinary Hospital told me the survivor might well also get FIP, but if he showed no sign 6 months after the first kitten died, he would probably be OK

he's nine now

Fingers crossed it is just a simple infection. FIP is a mutation of the Corona Virus, so while Tinkerbelle could have passed the virus down, doesn't mean it will mutate. Even if you have her titre levels checked, it doesn't mean FIP for certain.
Please spay your cat

Yesterday Jasmine was not herself. She was not very active and has been off her food. She went to try some food and was slipping on the wood floor cuz her left side wasn't holding her weight properley. She was not in pain an purred when we stroked her. When we saw her slipping we rang the vet and took her in first thing this morning. The vet said that at her age (not quite 1 and a half) it was most likely an infection. Jasmine got an antibiotic injection just in case it's bacterial but the vet was worried that as Tinkerbell (Jasmines mum) died of FIP that Jasmine could have been carrying it and that could be what is wrong with her. :'( I don't want her to have that.  I read this to find out some more about it.

The kittens were only 3 weeks old when they had to be separated from Tinkerbell when she got sick and they had not been near the litter trays. We have 3 trays for four cats and keep them clean. We clean them everytime we see that they have been used and spray them with antibacterical spray. I know that this doesn't mean for sure that Jasmine hasn't got it but does anyone have any idea at the chace that it is FIP and not another infection.
