A few years ago - i had just been told my mum had died and the same night /early morning came down with some horrific bug and could hardly get out of the loo and back into bed again - i managed to open the door for the cats and feed them and collapse back into bed again (and the loo!! ) .
It was June , so the back door was left open and the back gate locked -but every time i opened my eyes -one or more was cuddled up with me even Winston who loves being outside .
They were with me the 3 days i was so ill - i had to get downstairs to feed, and do litters but that was it - couldn''t eat and could only drink water -or flat cola (as the doctor told me too )
Hope i don''t feel like that again - not nice !!!

Thankfully I have not needed nursing by any cats that I have but if I have had a long day or am feeling a bit ill sometimes I have a nap and Isobel comes and sleeps with me. Not sure if she is looking after me or just laying claim to "her" bed.
When I was a kid i was staying over at my friends house and her mum was sick and one of her cats was heavily pregnant. Oreo who was only about 1 year old would curl up with her pregnant sister then when my friends mum went to the toilet Oreo would go and sit by the door then follow her back to bed then a few minutes later she would come back and sit with her sister infront of the TV with us. Such a sweet kitty  :Luv:

When I was younger I put my back out rather badly and spent some time in bed. My cats would take it in shifts to stay with me. Two on the bed, the third out doing what cats do. From time to time they would bring me gifts from their wanderings - a pebble, a twig, a dead bird ... (well, you can't have everything ...) but the other two would stay snuggled up and purring all day. I was good to have the company and know that someone cared.... :Luv:

As Im at home ill all the time no I would say Amber is useless at nursing. If I get a cold she goes under the bed in case I sneeze, if I get upset she goes under the bed in case I cuddle her and generally when Im in pain she sits on me and makes it worse because I dont want to disturb her so sit until Im in agony and have muscle twitches  :evillaugh:
Good job I love her isnt it  ;)

Mogs was pretty good when I first got ill and so long as she could see me wouldnt disturb me when I was sleeping all the time but Amber never really got that and now Mogs isnt here to tell her off I just get walked on

love

Generally, no.  If I'm at home, they think I'm there to play and provide extra attention.  Having said that, they were both quite good the last time I was ill.  I think that might have had more to do with the fact that it was winter and my heating was broken though.  They snuggled up to me on the sofa.

Max used to reasonbly good, but if I was off sick, he would demand lots more playtimes and dib everything in sight to get my attention  :evillaugh:

Poot is completely different, when I was off with a tummy bug a few months ago, he literally didn't leave my side, followed me everywhere and curled up next to me when I was resting!

Poot, adopted 14th August 2009. I'm sure Maxy sent you to me sweetie xx

Our cat Blip is called 'nurse Blip' by some on this very forum, Shiroi-Neko!  I'm not often laid low, but she's very good with OH when he gets man flu  ;)

Our first cat Penny was always by my side if I was poorly or down and Byron is a litttle that way too - although we've had more male cats it's been the two females I've found most sensitive.

Thai & zubin usually  - come for an extra snuggle to keep me warm and cheer me up. Zebedee however still demands being Fed,l et out when he wants and the best seat in the house.  So I have to leave my sick bed to tend his needs, guess that's love for my furry monster  :Luv:.

My old cat Chester R.I.P he always looked after me in his little own way, if i had A bad cold or other common human illnesses . He would slip in to bed with me and stay with me all night under the covers and he always looked concerned a bout me. he was good at picking up emotions.

any of your fubabys do the same?
