So very sorry Dawn - please dont blame yourself, we lost our little Olly G in similar circumstances when he was 11 months old - when we went to bed he was fine, the next morning he was dead under the Christmas Tree.  The PM didnt reveal anything but the vet said it was probably a siezure.

RIP Little one - play hard at the bridge xxx

Some animals are more prone to suffer from the consequences of food that they shouldn't have than others.  We keep parrots also, and chocolate, and avocado are renowned for being poisonous to parrots and yet some people have fed these things in the past to them without any problems.  Ours regularly used to nick chocolate bars and they'd sit happily munching on them and yet some parrots, this would kill them, one of our parrots is also partial to curry but he will not be having any from now on.  We don't allow ours things they shouldn't as a rule but they do nick the odd chip etc.......and this goes for the cats as well.

The vet isn't 100% sure this is what's caused it but he said she'd ate a large amount so it's possible.

Please don't feel guilty Dawn. We all give them treats at times. I still give mine chocolate, cream cheese, icecream etc. Kylie even had some M&S strawberry torte last night!. We know you wouldn't have given her a lot.

I would be surpised if it was the curry as I had a "friend" about 15 years ago that used to share his dinner with the cat (I said the cat needed proper catfood) and I clearly remember laughing at the cat happily eating a whole bowl of chicken curry & rice.

Oh no Dawn, thats terrible  :(

Sending purrs and a great big :grouphug: from our clan to you and yours. Don't blame yourself whatever you do - how were you to know?

I have caught mine sneakily munching on things so end of times and you cant know everything that is bad for them, i'm sure lots of other peoples cats eat curry for a treat - mine have been known to lick spag bol and chip shop curry up - I will be more careful now also.

Hope the little one sends you a sign she is okay.

Just spoken to the vets and they can't find anything obvious apart from she had stuffed her face with some curry  :'( :'(  We had curry for our tea last night, I caught Pingu munching on some and I took the dish away......later on she threw some up but was absolutely fine.  I mentioned this to the vets earlier and they said it was doubtful this could have caused it.  After examining her, they said she had eaten a lot of it and it could possibly have poisoned her system as there are a lot of toxins in it  :'( :'( :'(  I feel so guilty now........  :'(  :'(  :'(

Be warned not to leave any food out that your cats may end up eating........mine have always loved licking curry sauce but they won't be doing it anymore  :RIP:

She did have a couple of years she wouldn't have had.......this is why I took her back, the owners vet wanted to put her to sleep but she hadn't had any tests or anything.  I picked her up 10 o'clock one night, she was on death's door.......luckily I had a fab vet who did everything she could for her.  It was a heartbreaking recovery and even though she was slightly brain damaged she enjoyed life to the full and was a proper little fuss pot, always the first there when putting food out  :Luv:  :Luv:

I'm so sorry, Dawn, that's really sad.

It could also easily have been a big seizure... not that unusual in people that've had a brain injury.

Thanks for your support    I don't think it's hit me properly yet....I can't believe how well she was and then dying  :'( :'(  I've got to phone the vets up this afternoon to see if they've come up with anything.  Talking to the vet nurse, she was saying because of how ill Pingu was and her type of illness, it's more than likely to be something like a blood clot or possibly a stroke.  I'm just so relieved that whatever it was happened quickly  :'(  :'(
