Just opened the back door and to my horror found a blackbird? stuck in the catproofing
So went out to detangle it, which was pretty hard to do- head and leg through one hole and a wing through another! I held it while my OH tried to get it out whilst trying not to harm it
Bird managed to get away although it was in shock, had to go round the back of my garden to pick it up and now its safely in a catbox in my kitchen- I say safely but my cats are having a good time "guarding" it
It looks like an adult, so Im going to leave it for a while and hopefully it will start flapping about. It can stand on both legs but one wing is held up away from the body, I think it may be broken and if it is birdy will be going to the vets tomorrow
This is the first time this has happened and I really hope it never happens again, it could of been a lot messier
Just check your catproofing when you go out
