Yes hes got a magnet collar.
We now are wondering if the cat is lost as its been round again this morn wowing, and the weather is awful so its unusual for a cat with a home to be out in the snow !!
We are going to put an advert in local shop window and search the net for a lost cat in our area.  He seems in good condition to be lost but cant get close to him as he runs off

Does that mean you have a cat flap that reads collars then?

If so it could still get in if it followed straigght behind your cat  :shify: :shify:

I would wash with bio powder and then use simple solution, never found that the smell went with surgical spirit when I was in London.

Sorry! I mean the other cat that is new to the area isnt wearing a collar so he/she cant get into our house through the cat flap !
It still smells going to have to go pet shop and get something for it.

Thanks for the advice. The new cat to the area hasnt got a collar on so its defitnetly not the other cat that is spraying.
Have spent the afternoon cleaning everywhere and the smell seems to have gone, theirs just a slight odour.
I shall keep my eye on him!
thanks

Theres a product called simple solution that will do the same job as bio powder and surgical spirit if you prefer a ready to use product, most petshops will stock it  ;D

If he continues it wouldnt hurt to have him checked at the vets as spraying can be a sign of bladder issues, saying that gillians point is good, if it really smells then possibly the other cat snuck in and did the deed  :shify:

Have you been able to identify the area/s he's been spraying? if so you can clean down with a solution of biological washing powder and water (ok to used on painted walls, skirtings, be careful with furniture though - especially veneered furniture if it gets too damp, veneer wil come off!) Don't forget to use the solution on carpets too if you have them - below the area where he's sprayed, as some will inevitably drip down. After everything is dry again, give a light spray with surgical spirit to remove any last traces of smell that might attract him back - finally, use the Feliway spray in the areas, and hope that does the trick! You need to use the feliway spray daily until he's not spraying any of the areas anymore.

Presume he's neutered? and are you sure its Thomas who is spraying? - have you got a cat flap, if so could the new cat be coming in and spraying?

Hello everyone, My thomas has just sprayed somewhere in the living room.  I think this is because theirs a new cat in the area and it keeps coming in the garden.
So Ive cleaned around but the smell is still lingering. how do I get rid of the smell and how can i stop him from doing it again !!???
 ;)
