So pleased Spud is a true carnivore! 8) Noah eats the smaller bones in a chicken wing, but tends not to eat the large ones but I know some cats do.
:'( My beautiful Noah rescued 13/02/09, adopted 11/10/09, taken 11/02/11 :'( You deserved so much more.

He will have eaten the bones - that's the whole point!  They eat the bones and all.  Jaffa just leaves this one large bone from the middle but I imagine some cats will eat that too.

lol wow I filmed the results which I'll try and upload. He LOVED it running around with it in his mouth, dropping it over my paperwork ... thanks Spud. The only thing is we can't find what has happened to it, he can't have eaten the bones but there is nothing we have looked all over the flat under the couch everywhere. He has either hidden it very well or eaten every last piece. Oh we found about 1cm of a bit of the chicken that was it.

I don't really want a raw chicken sitting around decomposing

I give Jaffa raw chicken wings a couple of times a week.  They vary very much in size - I used to give what I thought were normal size wings, then I bought some from waitrosse that were half the size!  The first time I broke them at the joints to give smaller pieces, but now I just give him the whole thing and he munches it all up leaving only a piece of bone from the main part about one inch in length.  He didn't have them until he was about 9 or 10 years old, but has really taken to them.  Mosi, who is much younger, won't entertain them.  Some just take to them and some dont'.  I buy them fresh and put in freezer then get one out as needed and defrost in fridge.  I usually leave it at room temeprature for a little while before giving it to him so that it's not too cold.

lol

So with the frozen let it defrost feed same day throw away if any left over the next day - this due to food poisoning? and you recommend dipping it in warm water.

I really want to be independent and sell the best for pets, rather than Royal Canins Oral care I would rather sell a couple of chicken wings. I want the best for the pets. Loads of people come in for Hills T/D but the only way it works is by feeding your cat a massive biscuit which he has to unaturally chew. I know what my cat would prefer.

Might want to cut/break the wing into 3 initially, till used to bones, then give whole.  :)

Raw only, really need to stress to first time buyers not cooked.
Once or twice a week will help keep teeth clean, a more experienced raw eater would consider a whole wing (all 3 pieces) a meal, a novice isnt going to eat it all, they will still want dinner!
You also need to tell people who trying raw first time they dont all take to it and munch straight away so be patient, start small and work up  ;D
Also people need to handle raw meat for animals the same way they would for humans, no leaving at room temp overnight etc
I defrost and find putting them in a sandwich bag and then into a bowl of hot water before serving takes any chill off

Chicken bones that have been cooked must never be given to cats, but raw they are Ok apparently.

I know in London a very disgruntled cat was in the waiting room and had been brought in cos he stole a cooked chicken and devoured it along with bones! He was not amused

Sorry cant answer any of other questions cos mine dont like raw, infact dont like very much at all.......sigh

I tried to search as no doubt been asked a dozen times. I think I was told on one of my own posts these are great but wanted to confirm some details as I am going to start selling them in my pet shop.

Chicken wings are good for cleaning cats teeth as dry food doesn't. The wings are best fed raw as the bones cooked could splinter? Erm... once or twice a week as a treat or are they considered a meal?

cheers
