Hope he's back to normal now... let us know, eh?

My kitten did something very similar last week and was shivering a bit. It was a saturday so i kept an eye on her, ready to take her to the emergency vet as soon as needed, but there was no other change in her behaviour (eating - playing - using the litter) and it only lasted a coulple of hours (I panicked immediately though...).

She's fine now. I would still advise you to phone your vet asap and ask for advice.

Mister did this when he had flu the vet said that his paw was swollen although i have to say it looked fine when i looked at it..

Not sure if this is anything to do with the virus Ela mentioned ..but get it checked out  :luck:

It usually effects kittens and is some form of flu virus, but no sneezing etc. I have over the years had loads of kittens that have had it. Usually with hours of an injection they are back to normal.

I had a 14yo do this many years ago and we took him to the vet who said it was nothing. The poor thing was pts about 3 weeks later so I am curious as to what the virus is Ela?

Our first cat Penny used to do this, she just started to do it and did it thereafter whenever she felt like it - a cute little thing? ?- prob just something she does.? There is particular breed of cat Japanese Bobtails which do this and we think she had a look of them , when seated they tend to raise 1 front paw and in history this is a gesture of good luck (read from my cat book)? ?:) but if in doubt check it out.

I would take Barney to the vets as there is a virus that cats/kittens get that makes them act like this and if it is that then it can be nipped in the bud. Best to be safe than sorry

Is he OK?!

My Barney for the past day or so when he sits down he holds one paw up like he's hurt it... I haven't seen him do anything to hurt himself (he's an indoor kitten) and he's not limping on it when he walks/runs around, still playing & eating as normal.

I've had a look at the paw it doesn't look swollen and I can't see anything wrong plus when I'm touching the leg/paw he's not meowing or anything.

So the question is should I be worried and take him to the vets or leave it and keep an eye on him?!
