Hello,
I just registered on the forum to find out more about abandonned cats...
We got our first cat in 2002, a black and white european male, from a cat home (he was rescued from the streets). He is now 7 yrs old and is a real "loner", he spends most of his time sleeping and often gets very aggressive (bites and scratches) if someone rubs him for more than 10 seconds (the only place he tolerates it is his "chin"). The only time he becomes friendly is when he hears noise in the kitchen and comes begging for food.
Could his aggressivness be due to something that happened to him before he was rescued? like being separated too young from the mother cat or being hit by someone maybe?
Anyways 2 days ago a new cat entered the house and since then he's still here
he's a bit dirty, hasn't got an ear tattoo or anything, but he's extremely friendly, the opposite of my first cat let's say. It looks like he's decided to live here
Is it possible for an abandonned or stray cat to be so friendly? Since he's there he's never seemed to be uneasy with humans or the first cat whom he plays around with. How long should I wait before bringing him to a vet?
