No, OH bought her over. She had to live on a farm for 6 weeks isolated from other animals 1st (after living in a flat in paris)

Cats that are to be used for experemental putposes have a tattoo in their ear. The 800+ cats that came from Hillgrove  when it was closed down in 1999 were found to have a tattoo in their ears.

Willow has a tattoo in her ear as she's french - She's a parisienne madam!  :evillaugh:

I think they have started chipping in France now but only recently. Willow is chipped as well now  ;D

yep sounds like your outside the uk.

I'd recommend feliway for your own puss to see if that helps.

there have been studies which suggests that early separation from mother and litter mates can lead to this type of behaviour, also has he got his claws ?  very often declawed cats have aggresive issues but you said he scratches so im presuming hes still got his nails.

Regarding the stray perhaps you will read my lost/found advice on my site address below. Once you have tried all the suggestions perhaps you will take the little one to the vets ASAP unless you think it has a problem now of course.

Hello,

I just registered on the forum to find out more about abandonned cats...

We got our first cat in 2002, a black and white european male, from a cat home (he was rescued from the streets). He is now 7 yrs old and is a real "loner", he spends most of his time sleeping and often gets very aggressive (bites and scratches) if someone rubs him for more than 10 seconds (the only place he tolerates it is his "chin"). The only time he becomes friendly is when he hears noise in the kitchen and comes begging for food.

Could his aggressivness be due to something that happened to him before he was rescued? like being separated too young from the mother cat or being hit by someone maybe?

Anyways 2 days ago a new cat entered the house and since then he's still here  :sneaky: he's a bit dirty, hasn't got an ear tattoo or anything, but he's extremely friendly, the opposite of my first cat let's say.  It looks like he's decided to live here  :P Is it possible for an abandonned or stray cat to be so friendly? Since he's there he's never seemed to be uneasy with humans or the first cat whom he plays around with. How long should I wait before bringing him to a vet?
