Stewart nice to see you back on solid ground

me thinks that you now need to bid on all the water fountains that are bound to be coming in the Chrissie Auction so Olivia can hae one in every room so she doesn't need to walk far!

We have some who only eat dried and they have special bowls at the side of the sink in the kitchen, the side of the bath, the floor in our shower room and several water fountains, the outside bird baths - so much nicer with bits!

It doesn't sound like you need to worry hun, although I know exactly what you mean about the paranoid slave bit, especially when you've experenced the CRF rollercoaster.

I'm the same Stuart, I only saw my old cat Bluto drink near the end of his life but he didn't eat dry food, my lot now I see drinking all the time and it worried me at first

Thanks for the replies Folks, kinda puts me at ease  :shy:
must admit tho, it's only after she has eaten that she makes a trip the the drink well  :)
haven't really seen her there just for the sake of it.
for years, Hamish and Misty hardly ever drank water, even tho it was always there, but then again their main diet was wet

I think with my experience with CRF, I've now turned into a worrier  :scared:

I agree and if they do eat mainly dry try lots of different wet foods and hopefully there will be one they will like! one of the feral tends to eat mainly dry but I've been trying different wet foods and new she's started to eat certain ones  ;D

Yes, they do drink a lot if eating dry. Its good she's eating the hi life wet now Stuart.  definitely encourage more of that! They don't need to drink so much if they only eat wet because they get all the moisture they need from the food. Mine all eat wet (with biccies as treats!) and I rarely see them drink - which is good really, because if one did suddenly start drinking more I'd know straight away that something wasnt right, whereas when they were eating dry they had their heads constantly over the drinking bowls.

as far as I know it is good that Olivia drinks plenty if she is eating mostly dry - the worry would be if she didn't

Hi Stuart, A couple of mine prefer dry to wet and they could drink a river dry....its vice versa with the mainly wet eating ones!  ;)

Olivia's main diet is Dry kibble, I have been trying to get her to eat more wet foods
which is currently one small tin of Hi-Life Petit Pate per day ( if I'm lucky )
But I see her quite a lot at the water, I did think of taking her to the vet to get bloods
done, But I am terrified of what the results might be with the memories still fresh
losing Hamish and Misty ( both had CRF )

am I being Paranoid or do Cat's with a main diet of dry drink more ??
