If anyone's wondering about the harness, it's his baby one from when he had supervised trips out as a kitten. He still purrs when he feels it go on. It gives him security. Also it helps me as when we are climbing out the window, he likes to stand on the sill and he sometimes wants to jump down by himself (not allowed as he may land on his head) so I can grab the bit of it over his back and hold on until I'm outside and can take him through.
I wish I had my photos of him as a youngster (not digital and they are in storage) as he was so beautiful and quite the hunk from his daily work outs on the harness - we attached it to one of those retractor leads so he could walk further and he used to jump up on things while wearing it. He was incredibly strong. We had a Victorian terrace and he used to make it on to the top of the ledge above the bay window in one jump. Even now that he is old and unwell, if he doesn't want something to happen (like the vet looking at his eye) he is strong. Long may that last.
No sun today and wind so a boring day for the sun lover
