Just want to write the passing of Barty.. Never knew him that well as he as a oldie that our welfare officer took on after a visit to another rescue some weeks back.

Barty was found as a stray in an dreadful c condition and virtually on deaths door, he spent a week at the vets before they even worked out what kind of cat he was.He was taken into care by Rolvenden Rescue and treated and eventually was well enough to be up for rehoming.. Well one fab sunny day our welfare team took a visit to Rolvenden and well. the rest is history. Barty came home with Caroline. Which have to say surprised us all... never one to take on kittens only oldies stay at Lazarus house.

Barty was thought to be around 10ish plus. long haired while, ears gone due to cancer, had a very bad tummy upset problem, was a thin as can be and had uddles of character. He was given the once over by the vets and slowy and surely was intergrated into the household of other cats and dogs. Not taking a blind bit of notice of them actually and became a puss cat despite his years with attitude.. He always had a dodgy tummy though and had taken to eating nice cooked chicken rather then cat food.!!

Monday.. Barty took a turn for the worse and died peacefully overnight... He was with Caroline for around 3 months..

I never did get to see or take a photo of him... He must of been a handsome lad in his youth and obv had cinchilla in him.. His white fur was white and not cream and he had put on weight, but the vets think heart failure..

RIP Barty.. no better place to end days in the care of a person that loves the ones that need TLC.. Just a shame you never got to spent more time in the sun. Obviously much loved in the past (as someone had taken the trouble to sort out his ears)..

Cannot save the world, but if everyone does something we can have a jolly good job trying too....
