I think you've got it Sue, that's what I was casting around for but couldn't remember the name of the condition. I'll try and get a video of her movements and put a you tube link up - but from what I've read so far this is what her symptoms suggest, and as we already lost Minnie from this litter it may be Augusta dud have an in utero infection during pregnancy that caused both kittens to struggle.

Am just wondering if this is anything to do with the cerebellum or vestibular system, Sheila.

My sister used to have a cat with cerebellar hypoplasia (I think that's what it was) and she always held her head to one side, and was a little unsteady on her feet.  She lived until she was 5, and was a happy little soul who was otherwise healthy, but she always lived as an indoor cat.

Am sending this little mite lots of loving vibes.

Anyone come across kittens with balance issues?

One of Augusta's babies (female tortie, named Kaink) developed a twist in her neck just as her ears opened at 2 weeks old. She struggles to hold her head straight, always preferring to hold it to one side and would always roll to move around the nest.

Now at 4 weeks old she can just about get up on all fours and walk a couple of steps but she will still suddenly flip to one side. She's otherwise strong and healthy, feeding well from Mum and quite happy to fend off her two litter mates, but just wondering if this is a recognised pre-curser to a known issue?
