Help!..need to find a source of wheat free biscuits in a major supermarket!

Glad they like it. I have only ever bought the sensitive and none of mine would go near it. I also wish we had a Waitrose. I'm sure one would do well in Whitstable, or at least Canterbury. The nearest to here is 18 miles away in Ramsgate

Well..I went and bought a bag of Arden Grange at Waitrose yesterday (my piggy flu fever finally broke so i'm a lot safer to be around  )
my local one only had the classic adult in store but the store price was identical to that on Ocado..

All I can say is the guys are going mad for it...all 3 faces hit the bowls straight away and don't move until the last biccie is gone! Z reacted to them like he does to chicken (he has a serious issue with it- akin to that of a heroin addict  )Thank gawd I don't let them help themselves to biscuits during the day or I'd be buying a pack a day and the boys would be like balloons with legs!     

So Arden Grange is now the biccy of choice in Casa Koscha!

The Arden Grange works out at 5kg for roundabout the same price as 4kg of PAH premium biccies!

If you are buying 800gram bags, Encore is the same price as Purina but much better ingredients IMO.

I bought another bag this morning.

At the moment, Tesco are doing 3kg bags of Purina one for £10 though.

Edit - just looked at your link and Arden Grange seems pretty good value for a good quality food - about 1/2 the price of Hill's?

Thanks for the ingrediant list for the Encore Mark..thats exactly what I need 

I looked at the ingrediants list for Purina one on thier website only to find that the general types that they sell in asda/tesco etc. all contain wheat flour! Z's ok with any carbohydrate but wheat, so corn meal, soya etc are ok.....

I forgot about waitrose...its a darnsight closer than the sainsburys...I might go on ocado and see whats on the listing.....aha! No wheat gluten! fantastic!

That means OH's won't have such a walk ahead of him. 

when i'm well i'll go and have a proper look at Encore....i'm looking for another gluten free biscuit thats cheaper anyway so thnks for the tip  ...now that PAH are being greedy  and no longer doing bank holiday BOGOF's on the biccies, its a little too expensive for my pocket.

That rings a bell. Having said that, none of mine would eat the sensitive and the hedgies ended up having it. I doubt Wairose would sell anything other than adult & kiten though.

No - meds I will try as they are made under strict conditions but I draw the line at food

Mark is the expert but I'm sure he said they are identical and made by the same people as applaws. Actually I think he said the only difference was encore doesn't have the cranberry extract (but I could be mis-remembering). Applaws is definitely wheat free though.

I didn't mention the Cranberry - maybe Susanne? - anyway, Encore does have it so I am sure they are the same. One thing I have noticed is the kibbles seem really hard - I hope it is OK for their teeth.

Encore is cheaper than Orijen. An 800g bag is about £4.60. Being a decent food, only about 1/2 the amount is needed compared to a junk-food one full of cereal fillers.

Encore/Applaws is potato - as is Arden Grange sensitive but I don't know any shops that sell Arden Grange - My friend buys it somewhere but it may be a garden centre.

btw - the Encore/Applaws is going down really well here. Willow is off her food ATM and that is the only thing she is eating.

Ingredients from pack

dry chicken meat, dry potato, fresh chicken, poultry oil, poultry gravy, beet pulp, dry whole eggs, brewers dried yeast, salmon oil, cellulose plant fibre, cranberry extract, yucca extract, citrus extract, rosemary oil exract.

I am assuming the cranberry extract is d-mannose.

btw - I just checked a purina one bag and it has maize and soya as well as rice in it.

purina is rice rather than Wheat, so might be OK.

Just been on the Sainbury's site and they don't list the ingrediants!  , I just want to make sure that they are ok, before I send him off...because it will not occur to him to look at the ingrediants on the other types if there is wheat in this one!

Sainsburys do Encore which is the same as Applaws.

Well...needless to say i'm furious 

I'm down with swine flu so can't leave the house only to find that OH has not informed me that we've run out of PAH biccies, they're out of my reach on top of the fridge so mice can't get 'em and i'm wobbly on my legs even when i'm not hatching the lurgy- so I rely on him (ha ha) to let me know.....

Does anyone know of a wheat free brand that can be bought at a high street shop or supermarket? Mr. efficient can't drive either so PAH or Morrisons are right out as well.....

Grrrrrrr.....at the moment OH is running a fine line............
