you get sediment in the bottom of the glass..

Crikey (not sure how to spell that) I have never seen anything like that.

Years ago we uses to go to Butlins in Bogner  for Christmas and New Year. We always used to take a couple of bottle of de-scaler for the kettle as they were always in a terrible state, but within a couple of days you would notice a slither of something on the coffee again. We have absolutely nothing like that here, I expect we are lucky.

No ours comes from somewhere Peak District way so it's really hard water and yucky

I live very near the Peak District and our water is not hard and has no lime scale in it.

Don't you have same water as us in Brum then?  We get our tap water from Wales and it's lovely

No ours comes from somewhere Peak District way so it's really hard water and yucky. Have to descale kettle and toilet constantly. Bilbo and Tigger don't seem to mind it too much though.
No idea why Miss Boopy has bottled water though as I thought the tap water was really nice when I went over.

I am so pleased that this topic has been posted, as reading through the latest posts, it has just reminded me that the cartridge for our filter tap needs replacing. So thank you.

Yesterday I said that I give Clapton bottles water but  caught him drinking twice yesterday. Once from the bird bowl in the garden and once from the mucky water  on a plastic garden chair
He used to drink green water from the garden pond in the old house too

The water in Leicester is disgusting (comes out of the tap cloudy!)

Don't you have same water as us in Brum then?  We get our tap water from Wales and it's lovely so I only have bottled water at work as we are in the attic of very large old house and too lazy to go to kitchen on ground floor. I have tasted tap water in London tho and can't say the same about that. Bottled water for cats indeed.  Just another fad that will hopefully run it's course quickly.

Gotta go as Freddie just thrown up his brekkie all over lounge floor and OH gone away on business so I has to clean up  >:(

my cats have a choice...tap or go thirsty

actually before i had the chance to read the post properly my eyes caught the g pig/rabbit/hamster and i thought you were gonna say that was the flavours of the water

I agree Lynn ... having watched all my cats drink the disgusting scummy water from the bird bath full of feathers and various other unmentinables I think tap water is a luxurious enough!

i have a relative who uses normal bottled water as they have private water and if the water sits for more than a few hours out it gets a film on top (tests say water is ok) but cats dont like it that the only cats i know who get bottled and she only gives coz she feels she has to.

The water in Leicester is disgusting (comes out of the tap cloudy!) but the Bilbo and Tigger seem happy enough to drink it even if I don't filter it or leave it to stand for a few hours and they have the tap water in Aberdeen too. Miss Boopy only has bottled water.

At shows I usually give bottled water or I take a bottle of water from home with me to avoid upset tummies.

i thought it "took the biscuit" when i spotted dog GRAVY in the supermarket a few months ago .. i mean really... IF  a dog must have gravy (which is no doubt full of salt and sugar etc) then cant the owner just mix up some ruddy bisto for heavens sake ??

Well, I saw some doggy PUDDINGS on sale in Tesco I think it was! For goodness sake!!! Think they were made by Hi-Life...

Mind, if someone made pouches of jelly for cats I'd buy 'em, cause mine eat the jelly and leave the meat on some flavours.

I give Clapton bottled water as it's lower is phosphates - I get 24 bottles for £3.30 from the C&C which are supposed to be for guests but I "forget" to put them in the rooms  :evillaugh:

I bet this company are marketing a gimmick product for pet pamperers and haven't considered things like that.

Oh dear, whatever next...

Having said that, Lynn, you made me PMSL - hamster flavoured water indeed!

Mine get tap water or rain water. The one exception is when I take Madam Pearl to a show - then she gets a bit of my bottled water as it's the most convenient. I wouldn't go out of my way to buy water specifically for my furry ones.

Bottled water for cats launched
« Reply #1 on: March 12, 2007, 15:20:26 PM »
From The Grocer, 10 March 2007:

'Research indicates that 10% of pet owners in the UK now give their animals bottled water to drink.

Special Waters has launched Water Cat and Water Dog - flavoured natural spring waters with added natural active ingredients.

Lovers of guinea pigs, rabbits and hamsters will soon be able to treat their pets, too, as futher product developments are in the pipeline.'

Any thoughts out there?  :)

Edited to correct terrible spelling mistake, oops!
