RIP TigTig, safe and sound at the Bridge until your Dad is ready to collect you xx

The Greatest Gift

I always knew this time would come,
From the very instant our eyes first met.
How I loved you then! How I love you now!
I made a promise then, and I will keep that promise now...
You will not suffer from a pain that will not heal;
You will not know the loss of a life remembered, now gone.

It is for me alone to make this decision,
The price for the bright joy and pure laughter
You brought me during the time we shared.
I am the only one who can decide when it is time.
When my hope dies, and my fear rides high,
Just when I need you most, I must let you go.

It is for you alone to tell me when you are ready
For without your guidance, I will not know
When to lay my grief, my guilt, my anger
My sorrow and my selfish heart aside
And give you this last gift, this greatest gift.
Your eyes will speak to mine, and I will know.

The pain of this moment is excruciating.
Tears stream down my face in a river of sorrow.
And my heart drowns in a pool of grief.
For you have spoken and I have listened,
And unlike other decisions I have made
This one brings no relief...no comfort...no peace.

For if there´s one thing you´ve taught me,
If there´s only one thing I´ve learned...
Unconditional love has a condition after all,
I must be willing to let you go, when you speak to me
I must be willing to help you go, if you cannot go alone.
And I must accept my pain so you can be free of yours.

Go easily now, go quickly now,
Do not linger here, it is time for you to leave.
Go find your strength, go find your youth.
Go find the ones who've gone before you.
You are free to leave me now, free to let your spirit soar
Rest easy now, your pain will soon be gone.

I pray I will find comfort in my memories...
In the dark and lonely days ahead.
I cannot say I will not miss you, I cannot say I will not cry.
For only my tears can heal my broken heart.
But, I promise you this; as long as I live,
You will live, alive in my mind, forever in my heart.

So I give you this last gift, all I have left to give,
And this will be my greatest gift...sending you away.
It is the measure of my unconditional love...
For only the greatest love can say,
"Good-bye, go find the bridge, we'll meet again,
Loving you has been the greatest gift of all."

Forever and Always... Until Rainbow bridge....

Hi Mark you are thinking of Tom-Tom he was the first cat i ever rescued, he lived in the cemetery in a tree, Tig Tig was the little tabby with one eye who is now blind.
Milly was the little Black one who you got to Purr for the first  time i have ever known, she is now doing fine.

Just caught up with this one again. I remember the lovely Tig Tig being on the table when we were having our cup of tea  :Luv2:

Doesn't he also have a little shelter in the garden he can barely squeeze into? - I forget what it was now  :Luv2:

Hope he's still doing well and can enjoy the summer with you

Tig Tig is still with me and has put on a bit of weight in the last week and he is still eating, but he only eats a little at a time so i have to feed him about 4 times a day.and i give him Metacam three times a day and and it seems to help him since he has been on it, he is still a happy little feller and comes to Bed with me every night and still loves his tummy tickles I really don't know how much time my poor boy has left but he is really getting spoilt at the moment and loving it and i know he wont be around to long now and it will really hurt me to loose him but i wont See him suffer one bit i will have my vet come to the house when the time comes as he really gets upset when he is put in a basket and i could not put my lad through that.

I am so sorry to hear htis, but he is a lucky cat to have found his way to you Ron, and to have all the love and good food he deserves, and then someone to let him go peacefully and with dignity, rather than the end he would have had if he had still been on the streets.

I have just got bad news from the vet that my little blind lad Tig Tig has got cancer of the mouth and theirs nothing the vets can do to save him and I feel so helpless, the poor little Lad has had no luck in life till he came to me, He had a broken Tail then I had to have one of his eyes out then he lost the sight of his other eye now this I feel so helpless that I cant help him anymore, the vet said it will only be a matter of a few weeks and I will lose him. at the moment i am spoiling him rotten, he loves salmon and Tuna so thats what he is going to get, and I'm giving him all the love and tummy tigs i can but it will break my hart when I have to let him go.please send him lots of Hugs.

Tig Tig is a lot happier now that I have got his ears sorted he is back to his old self, I think his ears were making him loose his balance because he is Blind and he was loosing his way around the house, and and could not even find his tray I really thought he had gone Deaf and that I thought I would have to Loose him :scared: as I could not see him suffer any more. But the vet found that the poor Lads ears were full of wax and got lumps out as nearly as big as rice grains he still hates me putting his ear drops in But soon forgive me when I give him Tummy tiggls bless him.
