Same story it this house I'm afraid.  But not with the cats!  :evillaugh: Chester goes bananas to get near anything the cats have 'deposited'.... even number 2s.

I can imagine that a recently vomited meal is warmer, so therefore smells more palatable. It's also pre-chewed and far less effort to eat.

Have never seen my cats do it, but I know my mum's cat, Kimi has been known to eat the vomit of other cats

Foxy did this the other day after Rossi wolfed down her biccies and they all came back whole! I nearly threw up my dinner when I saw Foxy doing it and pushed her away!

Ah I knew dogs did it but Ive never seen cats do it. In the past if Ambers done the bouncing Mogs just does the carpet scratching to cover it up. I'll stop worrying then but hopefully it wont happen again I dont think my stomach can cope its bad enough clearing the sick without the rest  :evillaugh:
Thank you

Jaffa will eat his or another cat's vomit   It's gross but I guess most of the time it's just regurgitated food and food's food!

Ive seen my two do this, and foster cats, and a friends dog ....

I think if the food has been eaten fast and literally comes straight back up the cat or dog who does the eating probably doesnt even notice any great difference .....

I would worry if the cat who had done the vomiting was obviously unwell and the eater might then be at risk ..

Im told, and it makes a lot of sense, that way, way back in history our human mothers would have first chewed food for their babies before feeding them the pulp as there was no other means of pureeing it.

I guess this isnt a great deal different - though I must admit I wouldnt choose to have to watch  :tired:

I dont think Mogs was being vile, just being a cat  ;)

Since the weathers cooled down and after a second trip to the vets where I was told its old age and to consider Mogs quality of life she has suddenley started eating. Thats great apart from the fact that this morning Amber gulped her breakfast and imediately bounced it and Mogs ignored her own breakfast to eat Ambers sick  Ive never ever known her do that and I had to keep puching her away so I could clean up.
After Id cleaned it away Mogs went to her own dish and started to eat.
Any ideas? Is there some essential mineral that could be missing that appears in vomit or should I just put it down to Mogs being vile and trying to make me heave first thing in the morning??
