You might be right Helen. He's definately alot better with keeping his claws to himself now than he was to begin with.  Think I'll let Hubby try that one

It might also help to trim his claws so if he does do it it's not as painful! Having seen a few piccies of Samson with his toys I don't think he is lacking in that department, it's probably that he wasn't taught that it was unacceptable as a youngster.

Can you carry a shoelace with feather in your pocket? Distract him before he goes for you, hopefully will grow out of it! Most important is dont squeal or wiggle as it makes it more fun

I am joking but it is driving me nuts. 

He has some toys which are only taken out for supervised play and some which are left out for him to occupy himself with while we're out.  I'll have a look and see if we can switch some about.

I hope you were joking about the water spray. 

Sounds to me like puss is trying to self-stimulate. Try varying his toys so they come out every now and again and seem fresh. Distraction is the only defence against a foot chaser.

What is it with cats chasing feet?  I used to have one that did this occasionally but Samson is rather fixated with it.  He only seems to do it in the mornings but it's really beginning to become rather tiresome.  Short of walking around with a water spray constantly in my hand, is there anything else we can do to stop him?

Typical of me to get a chaser when I hate wearing things on my feet.  Only plus side is that when the claws and teeth have been extracted, the remaining foot-hug is really rather pleasant
