Thanks for all the replies, sorry I've taken so long to come back! Went to Cardiff last night to see Oasis, and for some reason internet has been down this afternoon  >:( back online now at last.

I think we'll start off with a bowl each and see how they go - cats always seem to do the opposite to what you had planned for!  :evillaugh:

I currently have three fosters, two kittens and one adult. Three food bowls, all have to have the same food and quantity as they move around and share and scuffle :evillaugh: Everyone seems to get their fill though. Milo really only eats dry so sometimes I'll wait till the two littlies have had their fill of wet in the morning and put down too much dry just for Milo so she can have her fill and the other two don't feel left out as there will enough for them to have some. Two water bowls away from their food which they are happy to share.

It's all preference really, it sort of naturally comes to an arrangement when you aren't looking.

My 4 share one bowl of dry and 2 of wet. I've tried a bowl each but they seem to like having a bit from each. Mine have no problem sharing and the youngest 3 are siblings like yours

Ours all have double bowls - 20 in the house each with wet and dry and 6 outside same set up for the ferals - 4 water fountains, various water bowls and of course the dogs water bowl also known as the foot washer for cats!  Well seen where our 3 dogs come they all have a bowl each for dried and a bowl for wet but they eat out of each others bowls!

My cats have a food bowl each, but share a water bowl. Although, they'd much prefer it if I gave into their demands and let them drink from the tap every time they sit in the kitchen sink!

I had my two girls having two bowls, but found they much prefer sharing :innocent: so now just do the one. I'd try separate bowls and see how they go. :)

If these kittens are siblings chances are they are sharing one bowl already, as long as you can tell that each kitty has a full tummy its down to personal prefence. at present a litter of 5 here share 2 bowls for wet and 1 for dry and 1 for water. Good Luck

Yep, when they are still growing it is important to ensure that they are all receiving enough food - so separate bowls are useful for that reason. Mine still have separate bowls, but they are side by side. They happily share the space, but not the bowls

Different points of view on this one I am sure,  but with kittens I tend to feed them from their own bowl so I know how much they are eating and make sure they are getting enough etc,   my lot are all above 12 months now so I tend to put a few big bowls down (I have 10 cats !) but that is only for wet food,  we have dry food in one of those auto feeders that is available to them at all times along with fresh water.

Possibly a silly question.....feeding three kittens/cats

We are adopting three kittens from a local rescue in two weeks  :Luv2: and I've now got myself confused about feeding them!! :shy:

Will we need to split the food into three bowls at each meal time or is it more likely they will all eat a bit of every bowl and therefore might aswell share a big bowl? What do those of you with multiple cats do?

I did warn you this was a silly question!
