Got it from Bazmum. And Glil..............THANK YOU both.

Your very welcome, usually if we have new news on a topic posted we add the extra to the thread already started, so I can honestly see how this could very easily be overlooked!

I do hope you wont disconnect from us DM, I love reading your posts and admire what you do for your many cats....you are an unsung hero of the cat world....

Look at Jasper now, Im sure you can see a big difference in him already...that is your reassurance! At the end of the day (apart from it getting dark that is) You must know in your feline heart that the right thing has been done....No more evil, hungry, injured, hormonal days for Jasper!  ;)

the dilemma about whether it is right to force ourselves upon a cat who prefers to be independent is a difficult one, and only hindsight really shows a decision made either way was the correct one

and it seems as if Jasper is quite certain that you made the right decision in his case, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if he comes to tell you any time soon just how grateful he is to have been brought in out of the cold

 for you, and another one  for Jasper when he decides he wants it

Certainly more the case that it got buried a bit through the many posts DM

I think that Jasper coming out of his shell is fabulous. You've done so much for your cats and no matter how experienced we all need reassurance from time to time that we're doing the right things for them.

I'm sorry you didn't get it when you needed it from us.

don't be disconnected - sometimes posts just get buried and people miss them, I'm sure that is all that has happened

Thanks Dawn.

Your message came at such a time..........  I was looking through the site to see how to be disconnected. I know it has to be through Admin - Tan or some such....

It's just that nothing I write seems to matter worth a damn. It's o.k. - who am I after all?

But I had hoped for a bit of support for me and Jasper. I can do without it - have. He is only the last in a very long string of kitties who have come 'home'. And not even the first wild one. But maybe I am old now and unsure and I wanted a bit of reassurance.........

Got it from Bazmum. And Glil..............THANK YOU both.

And now I shall wander off. He is in the basement. Will trust eventually. I hope.

But I want to thank you. Your message was helpful. Thank you.

Jasper had  his 'coming out day' yesterday. We had visited with him in 'his' room and things were good (he is still afraid of me but would be 'called out' from under the chair by the other kitties....). Yesterday was to be his 'coming out' day (the first day I could be here all day so as to monitor...) - the day the door flew wide and the house was his and he and they.........

I am astonished. He must really have wanted and/or needed to come in. NO problems. A couple of hisses and that's been that. Have had worse reactions from introducing just 'normal' kitties. He still doesn't trust me, but unlike Mysh (the other wild fellow I adopted long, long ago) he hasn't fled in terror. Retreats under his chair, and I don't expect he and I will touch any time soon but.... We are doing well.
