For the first time in over 40 years (when we are at home) we have not had a cat in the house. Brindly leg a long term 'Golden oldie' (I wrote down I had him in 1994 but I am sure I remember my now son in- law helping me catch him as a kitten the very first time he came to our house and that was just after he returned from the second Gulf war and I think that was in 1991). Anyway Brindle leg is one of only two feral kittens that I could not tame down. He along with his brother who sadly was gently PTS years ago lived in the house, and in all the years I have had him I have only been able to pick him up twice before yesterday. I feel so sorry for him as over the years all his friends have gone to Rainbow Bridge, Teddy the little one I found dead draped round my head being the last a few weeks ago. Anyway for the last few days he has not been eating so well, although apart from that you would not know anything was wrong. I have tried so many different foods both complete and complementary, although a couple of days ago I found a sachet of My Cat and he gobbled it all, so I went and got 5 boxes, yes, you have guessed it, he would not touch it the next time it was served, One day he would refuse tuna yet yesterday morning he ate some, he would also eat a little dried but I thought I would take him to the vets for a MOT, bloods etc. His bloods are fine; he needs a dental, although he now only has two fangs as he had the rest of his teeth removed a few years ago, but on the MOT (under a mild sedation) the vet felt a small plum size something, so today he is having a ultrasound scan. (I left him at the vets as I thought that was the best of the two evils (leaving him there or catching him again and placing him in a crush box and another journey to the vets). So today we will have to see, although I am expecting the worst.
