This is the time of year Im really gld our two are indoor cats ......

Tip for picking up dead "presents" - or dead things left in your garden by other cats .....

I put two carrier bags, one inside the other over the body, just like scooping "poop" then pick it up, twist the bag so the body is contained and then because its right out of the way, put the body under the bushes that grow near the railway line.  (Should have mentioned I tip it out of the bag)   That way, it goes back into the soil .....  personally, I dont like the idea of binning - some poor dustmen might have phobia .... and it seems a little disrespectful to the poor victim 

Unfortunately, I seem to have a reputation around here for dealing with dead things - Ive conducted a pigeon burial service for two little firls who saw a pigeon fly into a window and break its neck  Now, whenever they or their friends find something they bring it to me

We have starlings nesting under my roof and the parents are constantly sitting shouting at my cats 

same here, just outside my bedroom window, they're the one i worry about most.

No! My Harry brought me a lovely bird the other day, it was still intact thank God!  but of course dead 

And Lyla likes her mice

mine havent been too bad so far this year although one day last week my kitchen was covered in feathers.  1 starling and 1pigeon.  i've also had 2 dead field mice which for some reason had their heads skinned but were basically whole.  traditionally the worst day for me is the next bank holiday as thats when the baby starlings usually fledge.  it's the only day of the year that my Lupus actually manages to catch anything and unfortunately he seems to know where all the nests are.

anyone else experiencing it being that time of year where the cats seem to kill every bird in sight in the past week i have had one headless bird and 3 and a half dead baby chicks i think i know who it is that is killing them i had to clear them up with the spade because dead birds i dont like handling i have a hand shovel but couldnt find it and i have to say it is really hard to clear them up with a spade so is it just me experiencing the influx of dead birds???
