If the vet's told you just to apply the cream to the area then that's all that's needed. It certainly doesn't sound like anything serious so she'll heal up quick I am sure. As someone else said... stop worrying and just enjoy her. Cats can pick up on stress which makes things worse so try and chill out and just enjoy having her.

I would just leave it (unless the vet has told you to clean it) and just a apply a small amount to the area - or as directed.

If you are unsure I would just dab it on but as the cream is on there I doubt it would spread.  If it doesn't seem to be healing best to contact your vet.  Hope she gets better soon poor girl xx

well ive been using a cream on her nose as the vet said, im now worried as i think its making it spread when im rubbing in on, im also rubbing the bacteria further.

i dont know if i should stop using the gel, keep using it or go back to the vets or what.

im scared its going to get worse and spread all over her face, she in the wars at the min all i want is her to get better :-(

As she has a collar on then she cannot wash properly, some cats have this "Not washed my face" kinda look anyway. If you are that worried about it, let a vet see her. What you are describing is a perfectly normal cats nose, however we cannot see it and not being vets it would be irresponsible of us to make any kind of "diagnosis".

I assume that she will need to go back sometime anyway, so let them check it over and put your mind at rest. My icons work when they want to , so will have to improvise. :)

Cats noses should not be dry hun, they should retain a certain amount of "wet", it is an indicator of good health. I assume that because she has a collar on she has had an operation? If she has then the vet would have spotted something amiss.

My best advice is stop worrying and just enjoy her!

Byron's nose is bone dry, although very old she seems healthy enough.

Don't try too hard, she will let you know if anything is wrong  ;) Honestly, just go with the flow and try not to worry too much

A damp flannel will clean her up, its difficult to stay tidy when you have a lampshade on your head!

Has she reduced her food quantity herself? Could it be she doesnt like it as much? Some cats are good and know how much they want to eat

hey everyone....only had sophie (first cat) for just over a week now......ive noticed just above her nose, the hair feels a lil hard, im assuming this is where she is licking it and the wetness has dried??

The hair is very short just above a cat's nose - can you take a picture and upload it, Robbo, so we can see what you are referring to?

also i have just changed her cat food to a higher grade one, (from science diet to applaws, both dry) and she has gone from 80g to 50g a day....would this be normal as well? im assuming so as the science diet has alot of grain/cereal fillers while applwas is 80% chicken with no grain fillers etc......?

thank you   8)
