we got nibbles just before new year found him on cat chat and couldn't resist we have always had a cat up until about 7 years ago when arnie our 1 year old got run over.
after which we said that we wasn't going to have another because of the heartbreak it caused. but about November last year a ginger tom started coming around and invited himself
into our house. at first he just had quick visits but this soon became longer and longer until he wouldn't leave. we let him out and five Min's later he was back at the door looking longingly
he ended up staying for over a week finally found out who he belonged to. his owners used to go out early Saturday morning and didn't return until late sunday so duke was out all weekend in the cold with just a shed door left open for him to sleep in
when i went around i said he had been at our house all week and didn't seem to be eating proper (pawing his food of the bowl) they seemed genuinely concerned and happy that he was OK and that he had a gum disorder and every so often went of his food and had to have a
steroid injection then a few days later was OK again. so i went and fetched him from our house and took him back. since then he hasn't been back i think they realised how they had
been treating him and are now keeping him in as we often see him sitting in the bedroom window.
hear is a pic of duke
this made us realise how much we missed having a cat around and so we went to the rescue centre and came home with nibbles who was taken in as a feral kitten with his brother and sister
it took a few weeks to make friends with him but now he is the softest cat and will let you stroke him anywhere including his tum.
five week ago we decided to fetch his brother who is more timid than nibbles was but will now let us stroke him but only when he is under the bed he rubs his head in my hand purring
and lets me stroke him all the way down his back and tail so he is getting there but a lot slower than nibbles.
