In bunneh rescue, we call it a 'gotcha day', same concept as adoption day though really.

We celebrate birthdays and adoption days here
Both are special days. With Jaffa, I do the same as you - he was approx 8 weeks when I got him so I estimated his birthday to be 2 months earlier. With Mosi, I know his birthday but we celebrate the day he came to live here too

I see you celebrate adoption days. I tend to take adoption day, deduct two months and celebrate birthday then. Or just all cat's I'm not sure about have their birthdays on the 1st of the month, two months before they came to live with me. (Only adopted kittens, that's why) Only Noa celebrates on March 31st in stead of April 1st. Couldn't do that to her now, could I
