You could keep his claws clipped (just take the sharp tips off) which would make things less painful for you although it doesnt solve the problem.

Yeah iv heard of them. Not sure how Milo would like them though lol.

Its funny, he has always been like this but it was never an issue as i lived with my ex and we both knew how to handle him and if he ever needed tablets, handled etc we could manage it between us but now i am on my own in a flat with strangers coming and going. People think i am obsessed with my cats as i always say to new people to watch Milo and do this and do that lol. I just dont want him to be annoyed.

Make sure you react a little as poss so not to reward the beahviour. Ignoring him when he does this is the best thing to do as achknowledging what he's done may spur him on even more. He sounds like he may have a little bit of petting agression but without seeing him, it would be hard to be sure. Give him lots of reqards when he's nice and ignore him when he's not- he should soon get the message.

I was thinking, he is very food orientated and im sure feels like he is never full. He gets JWB and applaws every so often when i buy it. Is there anything else out there that i could give him that isnt fattening but makes him feel full. MAybe that has something to do with it. He puts weight on really fast.

Yeah they are indoor. I have a huge (5ft) cat tower thing. And toys hanging all over. But Milo hardly plays with them. Pagan does. Milo is on my knee now, being all innocent. But i could be stroking him on my knee and all of a sudden he would bite me. Its not a friendly nip!

I think he was allowed to get away with murder! I know when i had him at my previous house he was allowed out and he would hunt a lot during the one summer i was there. Come winter he refused to go out the door but im afraid as the summer comes he will want out even more, which is why i was thinking of finding a basement flat with garden access.

A short blow at their face can distract them, its important not to squeal and pull away if he gets you, this is rewarding his behaviour and makes it more fun  :evillaugh:

I assume they are indoor cats from what you say, what set up do you have for them? Activity centres etc

I have 13 cats and they can all use their claws when they want!  :sneaky: It may have something to do with where the cat was in the first place?

Lots of people think its okay to tease a kitten and when they grow they still think it a game!

I dont think this will be an easy job for you especially when your roomies are still teasing!  :shify: Your gonna have to try a swift "NO" in a stern voice to let him know that you are not playing..... ;)

Milo is Mr Grumpy and always has been. Im used to him and his moods and if he is in one of them i let him be. Its been a bit more difficult to tell my flat mates this and one of their friends decided to tease him with his hands and got a bloody finger for it! Hate to say i told you so.... :evillaugh:

But lately he has been a lot more grumpy and demanding. Not like he is in pain or anything. Just like if i want him out of the kitchen i give him a little tap (not kick) with my foot to move him on and he will fight my foot. He is always demanding food! He has started this game of fetching a rolled up crisp packet, its great fun seeing him bring it back but if i decide to stop the game he will get annoyed and swipe my fingers or anything he can. I think he just gets over stimulted and then cant help himself.

Thing is i could handle htis if he just didnt so readily use his claws. My other cat Pagan i have had since a small kitten. I taught her any use of claws on skin results in stop of play and i would puth her away from my space. Milo came to me as a 1 - 2 year old and had not been taught these boundaries. I try to teach him as i taught Pagan but Milo is a huge cat and very very persistant. How do you tell a cat that you arnt pleased with their behaviour?

I just wonder if he is telling me he wants to go out. He is a young, big boy cat that im sure wants to go out and stretch his hunting muscles. I play with the cats as much as i can but its no substitute.
