 ;D I can vouch for Da Bird - it gets my nearly 25 yr old active!

My friend's cat, Frank, only has maybe 2 teeth, but will only eat dry food, so they can manage.

However, if you are trying to keep weight down, I'd say wet is better, as its not so fattening for them.

My Clapton is toothless but he loves dry food - he prefers wet though. Sometimes I mix some dry in with the wet and he loves that as well  :Luv2:

I do know that cats can eat dry food with no teeth.  Our Schui is toothless and Byron has just 2 and vet said the dry food will disolve easily and their gums harden anyway, Byron occasionally has dry but they both prefer wet - Whiskas.  Good luck.

Hi, its been a busy couple of weeks - but as you can see in the Photo, Jack was extremely stresssed to find out he FIV+; tests sent to lab etc. - Lots of help in FIV section.
Since I last posted, Jack had his dental - he has NO teeth at all  :wow: (and some old roots taken out) he was a sorry sight that night, but bounced back like kitten.
I have lots of Q's about food, if thats ok?
Jack is a REAL mooch - always wants food. He is on wet food only at the moment (whiskers pouches, and some ham or tuna). He's a bit fat. I'm giving him 1 pouch in the morning and 1 with some ham or tuna in the evenings (on average) - vet says that seems about right. He eats it all in one go, and wants more (between meals you would think I never fed him!) He's 4.5kg - on the packets its says feed 4 pouches per day! 90% of the time he's asleep - I don't want to starve him, or make him fat(er)! Any thoughts?
With the dry food, he would leave/come back to it - can cats with no teeth ever eat dry food?
Vet said if he was in pain he wouldn't eat  :rofl: He had infected teeth/roots for years(?) never stopped him then! I think if he was able to eat dry he could snack and wouldn't obsess about food - more, more, more..............
