Good news  :)

Willow has always had runny eyes due to having cat flu as a kitten. We have tried steroids but decided that as there is no cure, to leave her be as she hates the drops. We are I am used to wiping brown tear marks off everything and also getting showered in it  :evillaugh:

Leo has responded well to treatment and getting better  :Luv:

We did have a couple intersted, fell in love with them, went to visit them but sadly fell out of love with them when leo got ill and went and got 2 other cats at weekend :(

Does make you wonder though as 99% of pets will get ill some point in there life and need treating, what would they do then?

Fingers crossed these two lovelys find a loving forever home that dont mind snotty noses and colds/respitory infections.

Poor Leo  :( - Are the abs for secondary infection as they won't touch a virus, surely|y?

Where are the cats now, as I understood they were in Swindon with a fosterer but you state that you have a/bs to give him and you are in Nottingham.  Just wondered if travel had aggravated his condition.

Anya and leo are with a fosterer in Swindon :)  I copy pasted the fosterers update and missed one word that needed changing looking back at post  :shy: They will remain at the fosterers until homed :)

Just to update:

The fosterer took Leo to the vets = apparently he has an ongoing respiratory virus as a result of his original cat flu. The vet said the virus can lie dormant and then get triggered at any time. This results in sneezing etc, and she thinks he has now got a bacterial infection on top, which has resulted in projectile green snot flying all round the place whenever he sneezes, plus coughing and a temperature. He is not a well chap.
She has given him an antibiotic injection and a 7 day course of antibiotics for her to give him. He is going to be seen again on Monday.

:(

ETA, Changed the word from me to she as kittens are still with fosterer in swindon.

Anya & Leo need a forever home (HOMED)
« Reply #14 on: January 16, 2009, 14:48:38 PM »
Anya & Leo are now ready to find a forever home. Since coming into the RACR on 22nd december 2008 They have recovered from flu, been nuetered, innoculated and id chipped and leo has received surgery to his eye that was badly ulcerated and scarred. He has gained back some vision and started exploring more. Still looks a ittle sore but the redness wil go away over time.

They are now 7 months old and been in rescue almost a month. Both have grown very confident and re gaining there kitten hood. They have become loving little cats and when the fosterer returns home rush to greet her.

If you can offer these 2 cuties a forever they so much deserve please pm or email and i will get back to you asap. All homes are subject to a homecheck. These 2 must go together as they are very much a bonded pair.

They are currently located in swindon but can arrange transport run if needed.

Anya

Leo

I will receive updated pictures this evening from the foster carer so will post those also.

New pictures sent by foster carer.

There are another 11 kittens/cats in this caravan. The kittens are particulary ill as is one girl at about 6 months old, very small and ulcerated eyes.

Is there any other rescues that can help also. I am sturggling to secure space funding for all.

The woman will not have anything to do with rescues and doesnt know Anya and leo are in rescue care. The only way we can get these out is for a woman called Hazel to get them saying she has homes lined up. Sadly the woman cant see what she is doing is wrong and wont deal with rescues :(

These 2 are doing great :D Leo has had option of lasrer treatment on his eye to remove scarring which may give some vision back. But due to odds on this and adding stress we have decided to leave him be. Vet says he isnt in any pain or discomfort at all with it. Flue has cleared and feline aids and leukimia tests have come back clear :D They will be having injections and nueterting next week.

Meet Anya & Leo (REHOMED)
« Reply #1 on: December 24, 2008, 14:29:01 PM »
Meet Anya & Leo.

Found in a run down damp caravan with cat flu and leo has an ulcerated eye. They are currently with a fosterer in Swindon and settling well, receiving treatment. Once fully recovered they will be speyed and nuetered before rehoming.

Anya:

Leo: You can just see the bad eye. Leos foster carer hasnt managed a face on picture yet to capture the eye as he doesnt like looking at people.
