They stop climbing curtains?  :shify:

Ditto.

Dave particularly enjoys ripping the lining on one curtain, I am in a rented flat so will be spending this weekend at my friends place unpicking said curtain and getting her to reline it :tired:

Chilli on the other hand has no interest in curtains, she likes climbing up solid objects, like the wardrobe, all the more enjoyable due to the fact Dave's too much of a girl to follow her up there :evillaugh:

Dot is huge, shaggy and has the poise and balance of a drunk hippo enjoying his first hit of acid.

Im scared to ask how you know what said Hippo looks like!

I saw one once, when in a similar condition myself.  His name was Colin.

Not sure. Astryd seems to have got bored of that particular game and is now onto sitting on the top of doors.

God, Dot does that and frightens the crap out of me.  It's all right for slim, young, little things but Dot is huge, shaggy and has the poise and balance of a drunk hippo enjoying his first hit of acid.  Mind you, I'm a fool to meself cos she does it all the more now she knows I'll freak!

about 19 to 25 Puddy - once a curtain-climber, always a curtain-climber - just buy tougher fabric ...

Don't quite know how to tell you this, but they don't.  Sophie doesn't bother but Oscar races up them and then has to be rescued.  We have had at least 4 cats who did this, and none ever stopped.  If they have curtains at the Rainbow Bridge, they are probably still at it.

Chloe still tries - she is now too heavy - nearly all our curtains have a rather "lacey-fringed"  look .....

I didnt think Jerry and Gizzy were curtain cats until I drew them one sunny day to shield the telly and saw LOTS of little pinprick holes! :evillaugh:

Mmmm well Mellika and Raffiki will be 2 in March (where does the time go?) and they still spend quite a lot of their leisure time dangling from the curtains.  Harry has decided that it is more fun to bypass the curtains completely and go straight for the pelmets  Teeko and the 2 moggies have never attempted cutain swinging

Our Penny did that until she was about 1 and jumped on top of the doors but we deterred her so maybe it was that as she still climbed
Please consider the harder to home cats in rescue.

I keep fishing her off when I see her. She's not happy about it, but it's preferable to her falling or landing on our heads!

A friend's cat still climbed them till her back leg went.  She was 16 at the time.  Might be a case of if they enjoy it they don't stop till they have to???

Seems like we've just been lucky so far with the others then  :-:  She'll be teaching the wee uns that trick of course. She's only done it on bedroom curtains so far but why of why did we spend all that money on the lounge curtains and why did I choose such unstable (slightly stretchy) material.  Great stuff to swing on I'm sure.  Ya live 'n learn, ya do indeed.

I had a gorgeous beautiful tabby girl many many years ago JS who used to sit on top of doors. Scary that was, to begin with, but got used to checking top of doors before pushing open  ;D  Hope Astryd hasn't had too many fallen off incidents so far  :scared:

No the kittens haven't started yet climbing curtains ...yet ...... it's Dinah (momcat)

Seen a new side to this young lady today.   I'm beginning to think she may be a bit younger than we thought?  We let her wander around the house today about 4 times for short periods.  Initially with N, B & F locked in lounge then with door open.  Went pretty well, all supervised and babies locked away of course.

She's now acting a bit stir crazy.  Climbing curtains was a particular surprise. Expecting it from little uns but not staid, quiet, demure Dinah  :)
