The following mon or tues would be ok, personally would rather be a week late

From the cattery view they are covered

I'll probably try and get it sorted at the beginning of March then, their last ones were on 28th March last year, which is the day we'll be returning from France.

To those whose cats have had adverse reactions to the vacs, how long were they unwell for? They had no problems with last years lot but as they were done at the rescue centre before we got them, they will be seeing a different vet and I guess they may use different vaccine? I know there is also some debate as to which vaccines to give, but I don't know a lot about it. With our previous cats we always took them to the vets every year and assumed they knew best.

I know most catteries won't take cats without up to date vacs.

NO cattery should take cats without up todate vacs !

Ring the cattery and ask what they want you to do ....Vac's don't just run out at 12mths but likewise it wont hurm them to have them done a month early.

At the cattery I help at we say that if the vacs are due whilst they are in they should be done before they go in but if they're due on say the day you take them out its ok to do after.
I would check with the cattery youre using as they tend to be different everywhere

Yes, thats one of the things I was worried about. However a couple of weeks beforehand would mean they were really getting them a month before they need them.

If you check with the cattery they will tell you what they would happier with. As they are due anyway I think I'd get them done but a couple of weeks before you go so that you can be sure they haven't had any reaction.

The girls are going for a little holiday to the cattery on 20th March for a week as OH and I are going skiing and I don't like the idea of leaving them alone for a week, even with the cat sitter, they are essentially alone most of the time and if something happened it wouldn't be picked up so quick.

Anyway. their booster vacs are due at the end of March, is it better to book them in before their hols to have the vacs? I know most catteries won't take cats without up to date vacs.
