chicken sounds good. Nothing that makes him poo too much as that whole area is going to be pretty sore for a while.

I've always been told the same, ie to give them something light and bland after an op, but I have always given them a normal meal as they tend to demand normal service.  Only exception being when Mosi had his op last year to remove string - he wasn't up to more than a few nibbles of chicken when he got home.  I would let Zorro decide when he's ready to eat normally.  Just don't give him anything too rich and go easy on the portion size - several small portions better than giving him lots at once.

I have always let the cats (within reason) decide if the GA has worn off enough for them to eat. Even my old vet said the worse than can happen is they will throw up  :evillaugh:

Thanks!

I am poaching a chicken breast as we speak.  :)  (I did happen to be cooking a chicken curry, so we have a little less meat in our meal now  :innocent: )

the stray  i had done today has come back lively and bleeding - I've just had to dig out an old buster collar to stop him licking!

As far as food, if he's alert it won't do him any harm.

He is a little quiet, and seems to have decided that he cannot go more than 3ft from my side, but he is running around to catch up with me, and has popped in to say hi to our house bunny too.  He even sat on the edge of the bath while I washed my hair this evening, then sat on top of the computer while I posted the first part of this thread!  :Luv2:

I have some chicken, I'll give him some of that. :thanks:

Have you got any chicken? My vet said it was OK to give my boys some chicken breast after they were recovering from having their body parts stolen  :evillaugh:

Poor Zorro. If he is no longer wobbly then there is probably no harm in giving him a tiny (and I do mean tiny - so you can see the bottom of the bowl between the kibbles) serve is science plan ... If he is still showing signs of the anaesthetic then you will have to be cruel to be kind ...

Hi

As the title says, Zorro had his big op today.  When I collected him, the vet said to give him something light to eat this evening.  I happened to have a sensitivity pouch in the cupboard which they said would be perfect.  He's wolfed that down and is begging me for something else!

He normally has Hills Science Plan, can I give him some now, or should I wait till tomorrow?  I dont want him to feel ill after, but I dont want him to be hungry either.  :-:
