It doesnt smell bad at all - if you like the smell of coconuts that is  :evillaugh: None of the 11 here had any bad reactions to it whatsoever. The bad reactions I've heard about have been in dogs.

Anyway, it works, takes a couple of days, but no fleas here now  ;)

Not only have I not used it, I had not heard of it.

Its been available about a year apparently.

Well, anyway, it seems to be working - the reamining fleas are now staggering rather than jumping  :evillaugh: and I found lots of dead ones in her water bowl this morning.

They sold it to me as a cheaper alternative to Frontline - annoyingly, Icould have got Frontline for a fraction of the price online. Anyway, I am trying Stronghold on Clapton again. They said after a break, he might not have a reaction to it.

I'm still humming and haahing over hether to use Program or Stronghold on my guys...

Stronghold sorts fleas, roundworm and ear mites.
Program doesnt kill fleas just stops them reproducing.

I know what id choose!

I've found the manufacturers website for you....

Can't see anything about how fast acting it is though.

Thanks Ruth - its daft isnt? I've gone all through the FAQS and nothing to tell you how long it takes to act! I've spoken to my vet this morning, and she said it does take a few days to work - in the meantime I'm zapping them between my fingernals while she's sitting on my lap   :evillaugh:

I was in there a couple of weeks ago and she said they don't sell it any more as one dose has too much liquid in so it is really messy.

It was quite messy when I did all my lot

No idea how long it takes to work as mine didn't have fleas when they were treated (I hope!  :scared: ). I bought some last year as my vets were pushing it saying it is cheaper than Frontline - I normally use Stronghold but Clapton was having a reaction to it so I asked for Frontline. I was really annoyed as when I went to do the next dose, it had expired. I phoned the vet and complained about selling stuff so close to expiry. She said they would refund but I forgot all about it. I was in there a couple of weeks ago and she said they don't sell it any more as one dose has too much liquid in so it is really messy.

Sorry Gill, I've never used Pro-Meris so have no idea but it's good to know that her teeth will be getting sorted, I'm sure she'll feel much better afterwards  :)

Thanks Janey - she was booked in for Tuesday for her teeth, but I'm going to move it to the week after because she's a bit off colour since the 1st jabs.

Anyone else know about the Pro-meris?????? I'm still seeing very much alive fleas  >:(

Took new girl Baby to the vets yesterday to get her checked over and to get her vacs course started, and vet put Pro-meris flea treatment on her because I'd found several fleas in her coat. I've never used pro-meris before (smells of coconut!) so wondering when I should be seeing dead fleas? - because this morning I'm still seeing live ones. She was treated yesterday morning.

I've done the house as well, and am about to embark on treating the other 10...... :tired:

Baby's got really bad teeth, thought she had because of her smelly breath, so she's booked in to have her teeth sorted too.
