He was his usual relaxed self last night and although wanteda cuddle was far more relaxed and himself.  I really do think this cold spell is taking its toll on him,although we have the heating full on

I know the first thing they'll say is to bring him in,our vet just dont do "talks" without seeing the patient,as weird as that may sound.  If he didnt get so stressed out about it I would take him in a heartbeat.

To be honest I fully understand why vets like to see the little ones if we have concerns, should the vet say I think it will be fine and then something happens soon after, I don't think the caller would be too pleased with the vet and say they should have advised me to go in.

I think the way to go is a visit to the vets. On a number of occasions I have taken cats to the vets when there has been no obvious sign of illness, just perhaps a little one resting in a different place than normal. (Some were cats that got easily stressed, but I would rather that than take a risk.) Each time if has been probed that it was necessary for a vet visit.

I do hope Ging is soon back to normal.

Hopefully he's just being ultra cuddly as its so cold at the mo, Maxy is certainly following me round more for snuggles and is almost permanently on one of our laps in the evenings

He's lying with my nan at the moment,them two are such buddies,he might be my cat by name but its my nan who he really loves and adores,I'm just his personal chef or pouch giver

It was really cold last night, maybe Ging just wanted extra cuddles to keep warm?

Dinah is now 19 and 3/4 and also prone to wobbles etc, though she's not (touch wood) showing any signs of dementia.

Thing is, all she has to do is look slightly miserable or uncomfortable or lie in an unusual place or position and it worries me sick, so I know how you feel

He's just eaten some biscuits and drank some water,these "strange spells" happen now and again and they just worry me but I really dont want to stress him out with a vet visit if I can help it,he gets really nervous of the vet and always poos/pees the carrier but if I see him getting worse I'll take him straight away.  He's not in no pain though which is good.

Old Mog can be wobbly too. If she's sat on the duvt and you try and shuffle out from under it really carefully, she'll still lose her footing. It's really sad. And sometimes she kind of wobbles when she walks. But other than that (and the loss of her marbles; where, oh where did they go?!) she's still the same Old Mog. She's the same age as Ging roughly too.

Gwen, I'm so sorry. It sounds like a bit of dementia, where he has his confused "senior" moments and also his normal ones. If you want to try meds, the vets seem to use Vivitonin, which increases the blood supply to the brain and is supposed to help a bit. It's a 1/4 pill so tiny to get down him which shouldn't stress him too much. However just in case it's something physical causing his tum to be sore and him to feel a bit off colour, maybe a vet's check up? Might be worth checking his bp and eyes too, in case he's suddenly not seeing much due to age and/or high bp. Vision changes can be very confusing for oldies. Give him a cuddle from me and my oldies too

One minute he's his vocal and happy self next minute he is wonky on his feet and just doesnt seem to be with us,as if he's in somekind of daze.  He sleeps with me at night and last night he just couldnt get close enough to me where as usually he sleeps on the pillow or under the douvet but with his back to me but last night he insisted on being really close to my chest but he didnt rest his face under my chin like he does,it was like he was sleeping but not in a comfortable way,only just lying there but not relaxed.  I know this may sound really odd but I am really worried about him,he had bloods done earlier this year and they were good for his age(he'll be 19 next week) but I cant help but think old age has really caught up with him.  He's eating and drinking fine and using tray etc
