Have you tried Feliway Hannah?  Lu can be very twitchy and a few weeks ago he got scared of going in the kitchen so I got a plug in refill and within a week he was back to laying upside down on his back completely relaxed.  Worth a go

thanks lottie

they are full on wees.  but not dark or anything, and doesnt smell any worse than wee does.

he's not been near the litter tray.  he does go outside, and has been out tonight since he peed.  and there are some nasty cats around but....  i dont even know of he knows he's doing it to be honest.  he was later down for his dinner tonight (usually early).  but he looks fine (usually if hes having an off day you can tell on his fur... he goes duller)  if he wasnt going out at all it;d make more sense but...

thank you pinball very much  :Luv:

Oh Hannah

I don't know what to suggest. Part of me thinks I'd shut him in the bathroom overnight (guessing no wallpaper in bathroom) so if he wees it's on a wipe clean surface rather than beds and carpets but I fully understand your worry about stressing him further.

Is there any way you'd be abe to get a urine sample from him? Just thinking it might be worth taking a sample into the vets just so they can check if there's any trace of infection. Is it proper big wees he's doing around the house or more 'dribbly' amounts? Is he weeing in his litter tray at all?

I can't remember if Jasper goes outside or not but is it possible that a new cat has moved into the area and he feels his territory is threatened either by having smelt that it's been in his garden when he's been outside or having seen it through the window and that's what has stressed him?

Pinball said he'd like to send a wimpy hug and a squeak to Jasper and hopes he cheers up soon xxx

 :'(

it really really doesnt seem to be due to anything....  last night it was in the middle of the night - nothing was going on at all.  this evening.... nothing really has happened.   last thurs he got on the bed with my dad and settled down like he was going to sleep then weed. i just dont understand.  have given him a littler tray now... he hasnt been near it.  he doesnt seem very happy at the moment...  like i've said, he's always been really skittish but now its jsut getting ridiculous.  dont know whether to shut him in the kitchen over night or what....  have a feeling that'll stress him even more and he'll scratch the wallpaper to bits, but he cant keep weeing everywhere. we played for ages earlier and he was fine....  didnt even do the paw washing tonight and he's ok taking pills.... doesnt love it, but does it pretty well.  i literally cant stand the thought of him being unhappy. i dont know what to do.

it sounds like stress and that he is punishing you for something!

When did this start and does it happen after you doing certain things or being out?

thanks gill  :thanks:

the vet had a good ol squeeze last week and said his bladder was fine - no tenderness at all.  maybe he's in more pain than he's letting on....  kind of hope so (if you see what i mean)

waiting for the vets to ring back now about the anti-b's  :tired:

Think you need get paw sorted first but if he has to go to the vets again ask about it too.

Now I ccant rember if he has been checked for cystitus but if not he should be,

Was he doing this before you returned home from Uni and wwhen did it start........was it after you started working? Could be he is stressed by you noit there m then there and then gone again,

I'd give the vet a call in the morning and tell them about the smell and the fact that the gorgeous hunk hates the car and gets distressed. As they only saw him the other day they might just leave antibiotics for him at reception for you to pick up.

ho hum.  well, as said in the other thread the paw washing is not going awfully well.

and have just had a decent look at the nasty claw and its still rather red and it still STINKS  .  the wee man still isnt bothered by it at all (until i try to look at it) so i think i might have to take him back to the vets.  but he hates it so much and its so upsetting making him go....    :'(
