I bought one of these but had to send it back, much to my dissapointment.  The flap already fitted in the door had a much bigger hole cut than the chipped one. That would have meant a new door to which I couldn't afford.
Good idea though to keep out 'visitors'.

We are getting a new back door soon and will see about having one put in. As the back door is in a passage, it would mean drilling a hole through a wall into the garden room. One of the main reasons is that the flap keeps blowing open when its windy - scaring the cats and letting cold air in. Could just be that t is an old flap though?

By the look of it, the chips my two have got will work but on a 'much reduced range' whatever that means

Our vets sell them for £89.99 - but to be honest the lockablr ones we have do just fine.

I'm bringing my cats home to my parents for christmas, so my parents bought this yesterday so their cats can still get out, plus it will hopefully stop the neighbouring bully cats getting in   :briggin:

When they set it up i'll let you know how it works out, I'm sadly quite exited :)

I could Horza, but to be fair the microchip cat flap is out of my price range at the moment anyway! I did consider getting her rechipped so I could get one but felt that if I did and the cat flap turned out to be a bit of a dud I'd be really annoyed she'd had to go through it again. She's confused enough already by life in general!

There's been other posts on this. I actually looked into it and Old Mogs chip (done by the local RSPCA 14 years ago) wouldn't be recognised, so a bit pointless for me really. It would let the other three in, but not her!

Could you not just get her rechipped?
Cats are like little bundles of razor blades wrapped in soft fur.

Apparently they are good but the snag is, you need a socket nearby. That link is expensive @ £127 - you can get them for about £90

I like the bit "Available in 2 exciting colours" - white or brown  :-:

Ohhhhhhh white or Brown ????  :evillaugh:

I think I quiet like the idea, although mine has never had a catflap so dont know if they would use it but it would sure stop me having to open the back door every 5mins for Rocky lol

I'd love one, but I have a large catflap at the moment because of Geoffrey's size, and the entire petporte catflap would fit through the hole that's already cut  :evillaugh:  If they made a bigger one I'd definitely buy it, anything to stop the lovely neighbourhood bully Bluebell from coming in!
