Good news, Louis is making excellent progress in terms of weight gain, coveted 'wet nose', general condition. The vet is pleased with the results of exhaustive examination and two bloodtests. We have still no idea where he has been for six months, but his coat was in good condition, (not matted, tangled, no fleas, or scurf) apart from being emaciated. He has returned to his demanding, cheeky ways but shows no inclination to go outside, despite a large enclosed garden where he previously reigned supreme. He is happy to be carried outside in your arms and observe the world and fresh air, but that is that. Any advice from my experienced expert friends on how long it will take Louis to adjust would be appreciated. We are content to be patient and take it day to day. His toilet habits are, as always meticulous and predictable, and adjustment to litter tray has been admirable. Regards Stuart

Eureka!  The wanderer Louis has returned just as mysteriously as he disappeared. Turned up 0630am in the garden on 3 Nov (after 24 weeks to the day) under the swinging garden seat. Has lost at least half of his body weight, one tooth, otherwise unscathed. Will interrogate, but doubt whether I will ever find out where he has been. Thank you all for your encouragement in the dark times. It is very comforting to think that fellow cat lovers did not regard me as irrational.  Stuart  :thanks:

Latest advert with photo in local Chertsey freebie provided no response, not even a false alarm for a black cat!  :( Stuart

I must offer a full apology to Clarenmax for saying that we had no news to report re. the help offered by Woking CP. In fact my daughter who lives in Chertsey had contacted the local Cp for help regarding the sighting of a black cat in her garden. 'Wendy' of the local CP offered the loan of a 'cat trap' but before it could be installed, my daughter was able to confirm that the mystery 'balck cat' was not in fact Louis. We are truly grateful to the CP for their help and response. I am sorry for confusion, but I live in Somerset and my poor daughter is managing the local search in Chertsey. Stuart.

Hope you find your little one soon

You're not a million miles from me, I'm in Woking, but probably too far for your babe to wander.  I will however keep my eyes open as you never know!

Have you been in touch with Woking Cats Protection who are active around our area?  If not I can send an email for you as I'm in regular contact with their co-ordinator?

Clare
