She is getting picked up at 5 tonight.

Des her kids dont seem to know how to keep the doors shut and considering whats already happened she thinks it will be safer for her.

In the mean while I want to try to catch the other cat, he needs taking off the streets before winter sets in.


I have been told she will be going to a foster so she will be in a family setting, which will be better for her. I just hope she isnt waiting for the purrfect home for too long.

The way I see it is at least she is going to rescue and not just being given to anyone.

I agree - It's a million miles away from being shut in a pen. Fosterers are well experienced at making cats come around.

Its not that she isnt wanted, she just dosnt want to go through the heartache of loosing another cat. She has already lost 2 to the road, and 3 have dissapeared, no sign of them still.

One of her cats went missing early this year and only returned a couple of months ago, lord knows where she had been but came back in a poor state. She is now with my mum being pampered. She also gave this cats son to my mum cos she was frightened he would be killed on the road.

So really not a good pleasure with cats for her although she loves them. Its the old saying if you love them enough you have to let them go

Argh having serious thoughts now, should I take her?

If your friend wants rid, she is better of in foster care. It's not like going into a pen. Most fosters only take on one cat at a time and are well clued up. The cat will be far happier there than in a house where they aren't wanted

Cat 1 or 2?

I am going to pick my friends cat up tomorrow and take her to the vets to be checked over, I know she is ok though. The other cat has been a stray? I only been seeing him since my friends cat has been coming into heat.



Trust me though he will be done  I think more people have been feeding him in the street as he is putting weight on. The other stray I had done has found a lovely indoor home up the road from where he used to wander.

I know I cant help out in ways of fostering but by me getting the strays that I come across neutered I see this as helping a little. I just wish I had a bigger house cos I would have them all. What a failed foster I would be lol

Well my friend has been asking me for a while if I could take her, I have always said no but feel really guilty now. I phoned the cp on friday and was surprised they would take her so quick, I thought she would have to go on a list but no. The lady is nice who works at my lacal cp, I have meet her before, she said the cat will be going to a foster in the same town as the owner.

I just think its going to be alot for her, the cat, to cope with considering the situation. I hope she dosnt get too stressed.

Do you think the foster would keep me updated on her? I dont think the owner will be too bothered, once the cat is gone problem over for them.

I am going to phone her in a mo and have to have her word that she will NEVER get another cat again! Not after this  

Oh and Im on a mission, again, I have a cat to napp and neuter, he's friednly tho so shouldn't be a problem

I did not reallise that the RSPCA stopped taking in cats at Xmas. A re-homing stop over that period would not surprise me which is generally sensible. Happy Xmas from the RSPCA eh? Having said that if I know somebody wants to rehome their cat or animal and I fail to convince them of other measures to try to deal with the problem, I plead with them to do me one personal favour. Do not ask the RSPCA to re-home your animal for reasons of which you will be acutely aware.

Sorry CC, it's hard to give a fixed time. Some cats are in & out and others can be in for months. The usual is a matter of weeks. The problem is it being so close to xmas - a lot of RSPCA branches stop taking cats in 3 or 4 weeks before xmas so the other rescues have even more cats to deal with.

My friends cat that is, tomorrow. I had phoned the CP on Friday as my friend has been wanting to rehome her for a long while, since their last cat was killed on the road.

So I will have to collect her and take her to the vets to be checked over, all with a stinking cold!

I know she is not my cat but Im just getting a little upset at the thought of never seeing her again, although I know this will be better for her. 

  Oh are they usuaally in the rescues care for long? On average?
