I've been away for a few days so I missed all the news of Charlies woes.  I am so pleased that he is better now and you are no longer worried.  Oh, and don't worry about being so graphic on the vomit details....I've even taken a picture of my cats vomit to show my vet!  lol  Now, that's what I call graphic!

Thanks everyone.  He is fine, no more vomit, was spoiled rotten by the cat sitter and really didn't seem to notice I wasn't there as his routine and play etc stayed the same.  Definitely better than the cattery.  I had a brilliant time with just 2 hours sleep and am now walking round with half closed eyes.  Getting too old for this rock and roll lifestyle methinks.  Charlie was pleased to see me when I came home though and rolled over to show me his lovely furry tummy.  He then pinched a Yorkshire pudding!!

Glad little man Charlie is ok, that is the main thing. Enjoy Belgium and treat yourself to unlimited belgian choclits... to keep the worry at bay!!!

Poor Charlie    Sounds like it was a one off so try not to worry to much about him while you're away, I'm sure he'll be just fine

It does sound like it's under control now after your horrible scare and hope you have a good and safe trip to Belgium.  Was it kitty grass? I had to take Max to the vets once as he ate that pot grown kitty grass which also made him vomit blood. Hope Charlie finds some other green stuff to munch in future and is absolutely fine after his vet treatment. Have a lovely weekend away - I'm sure the catsitter can text you about Charlie to put your mind at rest

What a worry, Maddiesmum    I am sure the vet is very confident that now the grass has come back up out of the way, little Charlie will be just fine.

 

PS try to relax and enjoy Belgium - you can always ring your catsitter for reassurance - and watch out for the chips and mayo!

Charlie vomited bright red blood this afternoon and had to be rushed straight to the vet.  He is fine, thankfully, the vet thinks he has cut himself internally on some sharp ornamental grass - this was also in the vomit (sorry to be graphic.  He has given him an antacid and penicillin but doesn't expect to have to see him again.  I can't tell you how scared I was, my legs and hands were shaking.  Especially as I am due to fly out to Belgium for the weekend first thing in the morning.  Discussed this with vet who said no reason not to go.  Charlie is having a cat sitter and vet has written a note in case to say that he can be treated without payment whilst I am away.  Hopefully it wont be necessary but guess who will spend the weekend in Belgium worrying about Charlie
