Its so frustrating when people take no notice,

It is, but when they start arguing their case it does get me annoyed and although I don't like to play God, if they start arguing, well they  argue I just listen, they have no chance  of adopting a little one from us anyway.

True forever and it can't be stopped but al least ela wouldn't feel guilty if the cat is run over.
Spot on, Although I would feel awful, it would not be one of ours that we do have a responsibility for.

True forever and it can't be stopped but al least ela wouldn't feel guilty if the cat is run over. There's nothing worse that homing a cat only to find it goes missing or is killed - especially if its one you have been fostering for several months.

Caller,: I want a cat
Me: Where do you live?
Caller: xxxxxxxxx xxxx.
Me: (Knowing it is within 10 yards of  very busy T junction, on a bus route and  about 20 yards from the entrance of a car park) What kind of cat do you want? (hoping she would say indoor)
Caller: a light ish colour and youngish.
Me: Will you be wanting a cat to stay in?
Caller: Well it will go in the garden.
Me: I am sorry but where you live we would not home a cat to go out as it is so busy.
Caller: Oh! I know but the cat won't go far, only as far as my neighbours garden.
Me: You cannot guarantee that.
Caller: Oh! well when lived in London my cat only went next door.
Me: I am sorry we will not home a cat to go out where you live.
Caller: That is i OK then as when I am out the cat can stop in and I will only let in the in garden when I am in.
Me: I am sorry we will not home a cat to go out where you live.
Caller: why won't you home where I live.
Me: Because you live in a dangerous location for cats and many get kitted near you.
Caller, I know it is dangerous but when I lived in London my cat was OK
Me: You are not in London now darling you are in Chesterfield. (No I didn't say that really) I said (again) but where you live now it is considered dangerous and I will not put a cat at risk
Caller: But it will be in most of the time and only in the garden in the summer.
Me:  I am sorry we will not home a cat to go out at all where you live.
Caller: But it will only go in the garden when I am there.
and so it went on and I am exhausted. I finally advised her to ring the RSPCA (I forgot to tell her they are now closed) but I know they will not home there either but it got her off my back, for now anyway.
