Simba and Leo are both male, Seal pointed Ragdolls, aged 4 years. They are neutered, their vaccinations are up to date (booster due: Sept. 08) and we are told they are both healthy. The owner of the boys tells us they do have matted coats, particularly under their tummies.
The boys occasionally ‘spray’ but generally use the litter tray. They do live in a multi cat household, with three older cats and so it is likely this is stress related spraying and the habit may very well cease once they are rehomed. There is also a cat flap, which can make cats feel insecure, as they see this as a breech in the security of their territory. They have been used to having outside access and although they generally remain in the garden, they do sometimes roam.
Simba and Leo live with a family, who have children aged 12 years+ They are not used to living with dogs and although used to living with other cats they would be best homed to a family who have no other pets.
Their owners tell us they are placid Ragdolls, who enjoy companionship from people and love cuddles. They do like being groomed, but their family find this difficult to carry out regularly, due to time commitments, so they are not groomed as often as needed, hence their knotted tummies.
We are seeking a loving, caring home for these boys, where their daily needs will be met. They will need regular grooming and initially, time will need to be spent dematting their tummies. It may be this can be done carefully by the new owners, as a gradual process, but if the knots are very dense and close to the skin, a dematt at the vet may be required. Once knot free, regular grooming should be enough to keep their coats in good condition. With the provision of enough litter trays and a home environment which makes the boys feel secure, it is possible to eradicate the spraying issue and often the move to a new home itself, is enough to stop the problem. However, the new owners will need to be prepared to cope with the boys spraying occasionally, should this habit continue (a habit which can affect any Ragdoll, male or female, at any time of their life). They will require access to a secure garden (but no cat flap please!) and which is well away from busy roads, as the boys can sometimes wander off.
If you feel you can offer these boys the love, care and life long commitment they need, please complete our online adoption application form at
