Remember Our Love

I was chosen today
I'm learning to fly
the world took me away,
but please don't you cry

And I chose you today
to try and be strong
so please don't you cry
and don't say that I'm gone

When you're feeling alone
just remember our love,
I'm up near the stars
looking down from above.

Remember our love
In a moment you'll see
that I'm still here beside you
when you're thinking of me.

Hels,

We are crossing paws here at the Clan cats but can't offer any advice other than if you trust your vet completely, they will know what to do for the best which is what you will also do for George

So sorry, think the only thing you can do is rely on the meds etc and hope he pulls through this.  Fingers crossed.

So sorry to hear about George.

Metoo (15 yr old boy I adopted in June) has undergone tests recently for suspected bladder cancer - the ultrasound has come back clear so it is unlikely, but it's too risky to undergo x-rays to know for sure.

The vet did tell me it is a very painful condition. :(

With all the will in the world, I'm not sure there is anything you can do Hels...

Thinking of you & George.

Oh I am so sorry that George is not doing so well.  It is a very heartbreaking decision for you to make I'm sure.   I'm sure George has has a wonderful life as it is clear you love him very much.  Sometimes we must put our hearts aside and do what is best for our fur babies.  You will know when that time has come.  Again, I'm so sorry.

the vet said if he's not weeing properly and eating in 24hrs then there's not really anything they can do, so i guess we would have to have him put to sleep.

George doesn't seem comfortable, he keeps trying to go to the litter tray and not being able to wee.

i guess i know what i have to do but dont want to

Is there anything that can be done to save him?
« Reply #1 on: September 01, 2008, 13:26:47 PM »
My cat George is 17 and he got various medical things wrong with him like kidney and thyroid problems and he's recently been having episodes of cystitus.

yesterday he kept trying to wee and only little bits were coming out and he was a little incontinent. and last night he had like a seizure and we took him to the vet and the mass/tumour in his bladder has got bigger and theres another mass near his kidneys. his bladder was completely full and she emptied it and said in the next 24hrs he needs to start eating again (he'd gone right off him food) and weeing on his own.

she gave him a painkiller, antibiotic and gave me some valium to give him today. i gave it to him but it's made him so unstable and he is still insisting on going to the litter tray and trying to wee and nothing is coming out. he is eating ravonously but i know that's just the valium doing it. he's lying beside me now completely flat out.

they cant operate on his bladder as it cant really be repaired and i guess i could learn to empty his bladder but then that wont stop him going to the litter tray to try to wee.

does anyone know if there's anything else i can try, i know im clutching at straws but i thought it was at least worth asking
