Ours did exactly the same - Willow arrived first as an adult but when Max came along as a kitten she gleefully tucked in to his kitten food which he completely ignored and ate her adult grub.  Fast forward a year and Holly arrived - tried again with the kitten food much to Willow's delight but not Holly's!  Watching Willow's weight we gave up on kitten food once again and neither Max nor Holly have grown up any the worse for it!

My cats are doing exactly the same at the moment so ending up with a bitof adult and a bit of kitten food- will it do any harm for the ktten to just have adult food does anyone know? Rufus is gaining weight very well, growing fast and the vet is hapy with the progress so far!
All advice welcome!!!

Skye would nick the others food and not eat hers.  So we ended up just giving her cat food like the others.

She is two now and it certainly didn't do her any harm  :naughty:

my bengal was on kitten food for about six months but then started nicking the older cats food, doesn't seem to have done her any harm

Cat food versus Kitten food

So it would seem my cats have got it all confused and Dave (kitten) is eating Chilli's food and Chilli (adult) is eating Dave's food. This is for wet which they have most of the time and dry food which they have occasionally.

Now as we all know, kitten food is quite a new thing from the pet food industry and another money spinner.

My question is should I just forget about the kitten food altogether and put them on the same diet as I don't think there is any way to stop them, they just wait till my back's turned! Dave is growing very quickly and seems perfectly fine on his mix and match diet and I don't want Chilli to get fat if the kitten food is a slightly higher fat content.

Advice as always welcome.
