As some of you might know, we have a houseguest an old stray called jimi who turned up and moved in much to the disgust of the resident spoilt boy freddy, jimi had a vet check, had a dental and had big tumours in his ears that make him virtually deaf, these cannot be operated on they cause him some irritation but he seems to tolerate them pretty well, sometimes he scratches at them too much and they can occasionally bleed, from time to time I use antibiotic drops. Anyway, point of my thread is his pee is the strongest thing I have ever encountered in my life, they have a tray each and from time to time swap about but whereas freddys pee is actually not bad at all, jimis is eye wateringly ammonia strong, he had an accident a few weeks ago, I had a night out, there was a delay in emptying the tray, entirely my fault and he went on the carpet, the towel that i grabbed to mop it up, had to be thrown out it was SO strong. Is this normal?
They are on different foods, jimi is on whiskas supermeat and some dry complete, (because he was a grateful stray, needed building up and would tolerate the supermeat), fred is on posh felix pouches and some dry complete (because he has forgotten being a stray and is now picky), fred drinks a fair bit as well as his two wet meals a day. Jimi drink a lot less but still gets two wet meals a day.
They both pee and poo happily, my only concerns in the utter strength of the pee and it permeates the whole house in a way that freds just doesn't.
