Michelle didn't want the cats originally - they've won her over (almost) completely now but she makes them earn their keep by spider hunting.  Two months ago now I didn't come running to save her from the immobile spider by the kitchen lightswitch so she picked Nova up and let him hoover the poor little thing up - I always save them if I can  >:(

OK OK; enough is enough. What on earth is wrong with spiders?

Nothing, so long as they dont trespass.  If they stay outside, they get to live.  If they come into my territory, they're cat food.  Besides, indoor cats have to have some opportunity to play the predator  :naughty:

have just remembered a shameful incident when I put the cat in the bath to catch a large spider, and would not let her out until the deed was done :-[

I will raise my hand to having done that too .....   That was when we had Perseus (aka Percy Puss :Luv2:)

There was a HUGE spider in the bath.  Im afraid that the more legs something has, the less I want to share houseroom with it  :shy: :scared:  So as Percy was brilliant a catching flies and not harming them (he would bring them to us in his lips - looking SO proud) I thought he could catch it for me then I could chase it out with a broom ....

I put Perce in the bath.

He sniffed the spider

The spider moved

He took one look at the spiders big, hairy legs  and did a vertical take off, straight up onto my (more than ample :naughty:) chest!!

Wussy pussy!!

He was all fluffed up and shaking ....

Spider stayed there until OH came home and got rid of it out of the window for me  :-[

Attacked by a spider :evillaugh:  Shame on the boys for not attacking it for you

Must admit, I've had a couple in the last few days which Bonnie was sat staring at until I was brave enough to throw them out.

Cheese loves eating spiders   I hate it when she munches on them and I can hear them crunching, and then she comes over for a fuss and I have to run off in case she spits a stray leg out or something!

Spiders, ugh.  I have a no kill policy with spiders but oh do I not like them.  My Rainbow babes would chase and eat them.  Jake, follows them with his nose, but shows no interest otherwise.  However, one small cat by the name of Shelley (my brother's family cat) used to catch them and bring them in for you, she tried to give it to me and could not understand my reluctance, eventually she gave up and put it down and only with firm insistance did she clear it up.

Reminds me of the time a big, fat, queen bumble bee came in one autumn. She was wandering around the front room and I was worried The Munchkin would go for her before I could rescue her. Yeh, right. He took one look, his eyes widened in terror, and he jumped on a chair from which he refused to move until I had 'rescued' him.

mine won't destroy spiders either, and I do get the black three foot across ones

Trigger is very good with moths though - I have been known to leave the kitchen light on to lure them in, and then shut him in with them

don't tell the RSPCA :scared:

lay me down, let me go, feeling heavy the ground is cold,
lay me down take it slow I'm ready to stumble, sing & then swing low

Honestly - these boys of mine are hopeless.  I was attacked by a spider and after melodramatically ridding my person of said spider, I called for the boys to come and rescue me.  They both came running but when I tried to point out the spider they just looked nonplussed.  Granted it wasn't the big, black kind that you can't miss, but it was definitely a spider.  Jaffa is usually very good with spiders but he just wasn't interested in this one.  So now I have a spider on the loose in my flat and I've woken up the boys (ok, Mosi wasn't sleeping but he was settling down after a play session).  Jaffa is giving me that "you woke me up so it must be supper time" look.  Well I gave him the chance of a snack to keep him going!  And now I'm too scared to sprawl out on the sofa again in case the spider attacks.
