After 6 months or so in our care Charlie will be off to his new home next week.. After being given the once over again.. he is being rehomed to a magistrate lady who already has a diabetic dog... !!

Its been a hard slog but with luck he will have his bags packed next week.

If Christine Blip reads this then we would really like Charlie to adorn a page of our calendar pls as he is one of our rescue success stories...

Following a lovely article in our local press (for a change they put something in) we have had 3 calls about Charlie. Once Caroine is back in action tomorrow, we hope to find out what one of them suits Charlies need the most and will offer him a loving home.. They are all local so can use our existing vet which will in the long term help us as we can use CP NVS scheme to pay for his meds... Wish amount to quite alot of money actually..

So fingers crossed and maybe even another cat will find a home as well.

I've totally fallen in love with this gorgeous man and hope he gets a forever home soon. If I'm honest I'd snap him up in a sec but I'm up in Scotland and it's too far for the poor guy to travel.

Fingers crossed the appeal works.

We got an email from Caroline saying the BBC cancelled today's appointment due to a more interesting story in Ramsgate. They are now doing it on Sunday.

Charlie is bing filmed by BBC Kent, who have agreed to put out an appeal to find him a home. We aren't sure yet when it will be shown, but the filming is happening tomorrow morning. All very exciting!  :wow:

Sadly the home we had lined up for Charlie hasnt happened.. Through no fault of anybody really but the ladies elderly puss is poorly and we dont think its fair for her totake on Charlie while her puss is poorly and all the emotional stuff that is going on to care for him.

This lady has been fantastic and Charlie would of been in his element but it wasnt meant to be and her own cat comes first..

Thus i need Purrs people help to spread the word about Charlie who is now better after his allegy esposide a while back..

He now goes outside in the garden and never goes far (he loves sleeping under hedges in the sun, a right window sill cat is Charlie) but we have been unable to reduce his injections so he is still on 2 jabs a day.. We are fully prepared to help financially with Charlies care, but sadly although he is fine at the moment, he does think Carolines home is his own, but sadly he cannot join her clan due to increase in work committments... Beside poor Caroline has already adopted a 16yr old puss this year Teddy.

Charlie is so laid back about life he is horizontal but he shows his claws when he is subjected to veterinary treatment, like being given tablets!!.. and turns into a grumpy soul. But really you would not realise he was a diabetic puss cat, his coat is in fab condition and his has even developed a bit of a podge!! He is as good as gold when you give him his injections though as though he realises that he needs them.

He does get on well with dogs and other cats as well, as long as they are not too bossy.. If you have other cats then you need to make sure you can control his diet of special food, not an easy task sometimes, feeding one puss seperate from another.

He is fine with kids (that are responsible).. But the committment of giving him daily injections is one to be thought about carefully, as without that committment Charlie would become very poorly indeed..

I would appreciate if people could cross post as much as they can,  Charlie needs a stable and loving home where he is the centre of attention, and although we have given him the best care we can what he really needs is to pack his bags and find a forever home for the rest of his days, no matter what the future may hold for him.

Pls PM us if you want to know more.

Charlie is in the care of Canterbury, Kent CP.

This is Charlie modelling for a statue photo, he often follows the sun round and is a right sun worshiper!

We got Tiger diagnosed last November and to date his needles are £9.95 a month from our vet we use one needle per day - its used twice and he doesn't seem to mind, Insulin is £27.00 a month and we haven't changed his food as he has put on nearly 2kgs and vet doesn't think it is required quite glad as the other 37 would have found it better than the stuff we feed them!

Wow, is that because you use it twice a day? LJs bottle cost me £13.30 and lasted about two months. Sorry to hear Charlie's relapsed - LJ regularly fluctuates between looking amazingly healthy and not so dapper.

I think the lady is still v keen to take on Charlie and we are working on the vets.. Although i suspect we can get the consult done on how to inject with our own vet that will charge nothing..

So far all looks good for Charlie!

Hope the lady does change her mind, our boy has bounced back and is out crusing his patch and flexing his Alpha male powers again - not fighting just strutting usually followed by 2 more ferals and a Border Collie pup - he has his own minders!

£40 to demonstrate injections? When I found out about LJ the vet demonstrated  on the same appointment - and I wasn't charged anything except the consultation fee.

I saw Charlie at Caroline's today and he is doing really well getting the best care, both medical and otherwise. He wouldn't stop purring and if dared to stop fussing him, I got a headbutt  :evillaugh:

Still not sure if the lady is going to take him on. Her vet told her it will cost £80 a month for food & meds. Our vet said he will do it for 1/2 that. Her vet also wanted £40 to show her how to do his injections  >:(. Our vet said he will show her for free  :)

Thanks - it's worth a try, at least! I don't think they really know how old Blaze (at Lost Cats) is - they just say 5+. I think that the lost Jasper will be about 8 now? Oh well - I am pleased that the info has been forwarded. Thanks again!  :)

Did she come to see Charlie yesterday??
