George being a black lab there shouldn't be a problem for Mr Tinks (hopefully). It may be though that Mr Tinks could have a swipe at George's eyes if he's upset with him, so I'd watch out for that if leaving them unattended. George has a look of resignation on his face anyhow - think he knows he's outnumbered and that Cat Rules :)

The hissing is completely normal. While Mr TInks may have grown up around dogs, your dog is not his dog. Smidgen grew up around dogs and this is the way he greeted Shadow when they first met ...

As Shadow had been beaten up by Smidgen's elder brother the day before, he was quite wary for a while. But now they are best buddies ...

As long as Mr Tinks can't get away from George there shouldn't be a problem ... cats like to go UP out of the way of hounds so if you have shelves etc watch out that Mr Tinks doesn't clear off all your Royal Crown Derby in an attempt to avoid George  :evillaugh:
In ancient times cats were worshiped as gods; they have not forgotten this.

It's perfectly normal for him. He could have always stayed away from dogs in his previous home or it's just because he doesn't know George yet.

Can't wait for all the pictures  ;)

He will eat if he is hungry - dont worry.
Tibby still does not eat loads and he has been with us for nearly 5 weeks.
For the first 3 days he hid under our bed and our daughters bed - lol.
The tail swishing is also fine - Tibby did this and seems to do this when he is happy - I alwasy thought they were fed up when thy did this.  He still swishes his tail about and looks through the window.
As for the dog -well.  Tibby and our other cat still dont really get on yet - it could take months. Lucy hardly comes into the house at all - even with the cat door - she is sulking lol.
I am sure he will be fine - just takes time.
Put yourself in his shoes.  Took to a  house you dont know and strange people and things. It just will ttake some getting used to.
We want pictures of him :)

Mr Tinks is home  :Luv2:  :Luv2:

He is amazingly friendly and has settled really well. We have decided to let him 'sleep' in the spare room for a few days but we did leave the door open last night so he could wander into the hallway. We actually left our bedroom door open for a while too until he plonked himself on our heads and continued to purr all night! lol! bless him. He didnt cry though when we put him back in his room  :Luv:

George......well George has been wonderful around him! i am totally shocked to be honest as i thought he would be a HUGE problem. We kept him on his leash all night, fussing him and giving them both treats, they both came in the lounge and George settled down - Mr Tinks jumped straight onto the sofa and made himself at home - he did hiss all night though and will not go anywhere near George  :( As i'd been told Mr Tinks grew up with dogs i am a little surprised at his behaviour - is this normal and do you think he will be ok with George?

Is it wise to let George off his lead when i get home and see what happens or is that too much of a risk?

Also, Mr Tinks isnt a big eater and he does need to put on some weight - will this come in time once he's settled properly?

He Miaow's alot but purrs at the same time - his tail wags ten to the dozen - is he happy or quite sad / lonely??

Sorry for all the questions - but thank you for reading!

xx
