Well I have just replied to a note on our staff forum  - someone was asking for a Tom cat for their cat as she wants her to get pregnant - then other folk asked same thing. They said it is to stop behavioural problems later in life -

Needless to say I went on a bit of a rant about how irresponsibile this was - especially as one had explained that if no one let their cat have kittens their would be no cats!!

Someone had replied suggesting that they use Purrsinourhearts to get advice on how to get a tom to get their cats pregnant!!

I mean - really - in this day and age do people still believe in all that nonsense!! Behavioural problems indeed!!  :scared:

His point wasn't about during the preganancy but throughout the cats life.... i.e. if you let them have a litter of kittens they will NEVER get fat????

Not as much as humans, and whatever extra they do gain is all lost with feeding babies.

I had someone here today who informed me that you should allow female cats to have 1 litter of kittens to stop them getting fat!!!!!       I mean.. in this day and age???!!!

I did eventually get through to them that this was nonsense and said I would entertain a booking on a kitten subject to home visit.... but after a phone call tonight wanting a 2nd kitten... to which I said NO.... I'm too Picky about where I place my babes....

Now, is it just me.... or surely that is what I'm supposed to do!!!!
